Unique story line for this genre, narration so so

Again and again
I’m listening to this book for the 3rd time. Adam is one of my favorite characters and I’m glad that he continues in the series. I’ve decided to start the series again from the beginning before the final installment with my favorite character “Mega”.

Decent quick read
After outlander, nothing really compares. I read this following the Into the Wilderness series. This book was a quick listen and had some interesting parts, although very predictable. I found myself wishing that it had more historical context and for more complexity. However, I plan to listen to the next one at the beach or pool this summer when I need a quick escape. I liked it.

I loved this story!
Unfortunately, I couldn't understand the echoed voice which was beyond frustrating as it occurred during important portions of the story. The story itself was unique, compelling and fun too. I loved the fear and vulnerability Adrian showed regarding love.. Hawk was prime for a good turn of fate after such an unfair early life. I also loved Lydia the mother in law of any woman's dreams. Excellent writing.

Missing something…?
I feel like either some important details were missed in the development of the heroine, or I need to listen to this again… Overall I love the story and the narrator’s sexy voice, but I couldn’t quite give 5 stars on the story.
