The series so far is excellent. However I don't really know how everyone see Mia. But ***TMI FOR UP COUNT READERS** I think Mia is a real bitch. I feel like Adam took to much crap for all the secrets of she never told Adam but pinned them on him like a pile of bricks. I am going to power through the next book hoping my attitude about her childish ways of screwing over the man that loves her beyond death. IF Adam was my son I would have pushed him out of her life for a immature woman child to screw with his head, heart and soul. I really hope Mia will be the adult she proclaims to be from the start. I live the start of their story. Hated her in this one,&hopes her maturity she spouts out comes to pass. I know my view on this will be seen badly but I have seen girl's who play women mess my 2 of my son's lives up so bad I fear one will never be able to climb out on the other side.
Would you listen to At Any Turn again? Why?
I would listen again and again! I fell in love with Adam and Mia, and I cant wait for the next book.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the way Adam grew as a person. He had always been in control, until Mia.
What about Jason Clarke’s performance did you like?
I loved that Jason had so many different voices for each characters. He brought emotion and angst to the story.
Any additional comments?
This is a great second book in the series. If i had a one issue, it is that things are drawn out. In book 1 it was the sex in book 2 it is the illness and med school. But that does not take away form the book. If you like books that you can relate to, you will love this book. Just a warning this is a cliffhanger.
Great story line, superb narration. can't wait to finish with book 3 now. highly recommended
Book 1 was fantastic. So I couldn't wait to listen to this one. But I tortured myself continuing to listen to the dribble that kept coming hoping for a miracle at the end. I call bulls*&t to Mia's behaviour. No matter what could be going on with her doesn't excuse her behaviour with so called loved ones. Not sure what the author was thinking. This book seems to have been unnecessary for the series. Maybe the whole ordeal in this book could have been condensed down into one chapter in book 3.
Not sure I'm wanting to continue with book 3. The narrators are great, but the story just went from bad to worst.
Definately not Mia. Adam seemed to be the only adult in this book. Any self respecting adult would treat each other with respect instead of telling someone that they were taking control and running off like a child. Especially knowing some of Adams background history, Mia was being a disrespectful whinging brat.
All of it.
I am a Lover of Audible books and also cd and mp3 books. I have 3 grown children, 8 grandchildren and I have been married for 30 years.
Adam, he is strong and giving and far more forgiving than any man in any story...
for sure!!!! YES, I stayed up till 3am trying to get ta a part I could leave the story and pick it up the next day......
This is turning out to be one of my favorite series.....
I became very frustrated throughout the whole book. Unfortunately. It just took forever to learn answers. Gah the characters. They made me frustrated and sad by how stubborn each of them was. Didn't leave me feeling good. In fact is this what a book hangover is? I am neglecting sleep and work to learn what these characters do next.
Nevertheless, the author is very talented and the series is good and I'm continuing on to the next book and I'm bloody determined to get to their HEA. After a nap of course. Then, Hear me roar!
This book wasn't what I expected. I wish I would've went in with some kind of headsup. If you are reading this---here's your headsup--be strong young padawan. May that force be with you.
PS--Narrator was AMAZING. Dude you just rocked.
Say something about yourself!
I liked this story line. It was somewhat original and had very likable characters. HOWEVER, I hate it when really stupid things happen in order to keep the story going. Adam is suppose to be a boy-genius, right? And Mia is suppose to be a medical student? Pfff... Then why are they thinking like five-year-olds? I mean, really? I almost stopped listening, but again, the story line is good and I'd like to know how it all ends. I hope I won't be screaming "you are so stupid! Hello... She's sick you moron!" "Uhm, take the best friend's advice stupid!" while listening to book 3 the way I was with this book. Throughout this entire book, I already knew without a doubt what the big "secret" was... Hopefully, book 3 will be better. Worth the time and credit? I'm still on the fence.
I found the character of Mia to be one of the most frustrating characters I've ever listened to. The story line takes a turn halfway through and becomes dark and depressing. I did finish book 2 and decided not to continue on to book 3. I wanted to listen to something light and uplifting not dark and depressing! listener beware.
I wanted to shake Mia. She was so frustrating in this book. I think I only finished this book to find out what was going on because Mia made me turn off the book more than once. In the end, it was a good book. Moving on to book 3.
I love contemporary romance novels!
Communication skills needed. This story is so good, I am enjoying Adam and Mia but I would say that this couple is so immature emotionally and lack good communication skills. However this doesn't surprise me considering what we have learned about each of the characters pasts. They both have abandonment issues and don't have the ability to trust themselves or each other.
I still love Adam as I stated this in my first review of book 1. Adam is all about Mia. He loves her and wants to take care of her and is trying to predict Mia's needs and wants.
I don't believe I have ever listened to Jason before. I think he does an excellent job with Adams voice as well as Mia's. He has a great range of male voices too like Jordan, Heath and Liam. You can tell the difference between voices and characters.
My first extreme reaction to this book was frustration. However I never lost interest, despite my irritation with these characters, I had to keep listening to see how long the mystery of Mia's behavior and how long her secrets would last. I did tear up while reading/listening to this book because that is a good sign of a good book when an author can move you to tears. When the authors words can be narrated/performed to make you feel the pain of these pages/characters you have a great series. I think that is why I prefer the audible experience over reading a book myself.
Again with this book I tried to predict where the author was going to take these characters, Adam and Mia. I had the right details, I just had them in the wrong order of appearance so I was still pleasantly surprised by the events that took place. I am enjoying this series and I can't wait to see where it will go.
"Enjoyable but quite predictable"
storyline a bit predictable but at least it no longer resembles fifty shades of gray
I hear the story I hear what he is like but omg this is a selfish girl no matter what he says the truth is there if she moves they are apart unless he moves everything? I don't see or feel that Mia gives a dam the outcome would be the same no matter where she learnt but one would cost him........wish he would move on to someone who had there future in mind cya Mia have a nice life l is for loser
"at any turn"
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, can't wait for the third.
Lovely to hear a man's perspective, not just a boring millionaire/ billionaire storyline about sex and money
This story is so extended and to dragged on. It was forced and milked to much that I was getting sick and tired of listening to it. However the performance was great.
the secret is very predictable and makes for a frustrating read. the female character is stubbornly independent and know calls her out. again frustrating.
