So you want to be a hero?

Millionaire CEO Adam Drake overcame a tortured past to take control of his life and build his own gaming empire. The final piece falls into place with his newfound love for brilliant geek girl blogger Mia Strong. Now Adam is at the top of his game.

Your princess is in another castle.

Then Mia suddenly breaks things off, leaving Adam in the dark. He senses she needs his help but that she's too stubborn or scared to ask. The more he tries to take control, the further she shies away. This is one problem he can't solve by writing a check or a few clever lines of code.

He will have to dig deep and put himself at risk...or else risk losing her forever.

This new adult book is intended for readers over the age of 18 due to adult language, sexual content, and adult situations.

I love the storyline but I feel like this story is much longer than it needs to be. A lack of communication in any story is almost always a given, however, for me there’s a limit before it’s too much.
That said, I couldn’t stop reading/listening to this book, wanting to know what happens next.
The narration was excellent.

Just okay for me. 💜

It has been a couple years since I've read book one but I remember loving the characters and really enjoying the story line so I was happy to finally get to the second book. Unfortunately, this one fell a little flat for me. The entire book was a back and forth fight between Adam and Mia, anytime they would take a step forward as a couple Adam would do something controlling and Mia would feel betrayed and walk away. I remember they were both new to relationships but they both seemed very immature or childish in how they reacted. This story was told in Adams POV which might have made me side with him a little more than if I was able to hear/understand Mia's thinking process because each fight they had she completely blew up and overreacted. Yes, Adam had control issues so he made some stupid mistakes, but she ran every time and shoved all the blame on him instead of talking things through... not to mention the secret she kept from everyone in her life was extreme and that would be a hard one for me to forgive. I am hoping they get their shit together in book 3 because I really did love them as a couple originally!

Jason Clarke did an amazing job narrating, I could listen to him reading all day long!

Great narration but frustrating story

I loved the first book in this series, and immediately had to know more about Adam and Mia. This book was great, and I can now say that I am fully invested in these characters and their love story. Jason Clarke was fabulous as always bringing Adam's POV to life. It was great to get to know his side of the story. This book is full of determination, heartache, and love. I'm looking forward to more from Brenna Aubrey!

All in for Adam and Mia!

Good narrator. was generally angry with Emelia for being so stubborn and childish but I liked the story.

Maddening but couldn't stop listening.

I wanted to shake Mia. She was so frustrating in this book. I think I only finished this book to find out what was going on because Mia made me turn off the book more than once. In the end, it was a good book. Moving on to book 3.

Frustrating
