Amazing Book!

This is an amazing book series with a unique storyline, interesting characters, twists and turns and all the feels! ❤️
I couldn’t stop listening until the end, and now I can’t wait to listen to the sequels I see.
Narration was fantastic, though I wish we could’ve heard the very talented Jason Clarke in the first book. I was a bit puzzled as to why it was only narrated by Kirsten Leigh, and Jason didn’t come in until the second book. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Both performers delivered top notch performances, however! It was fun to hear a younger Jason Clarke, whose narrating voice and style wasn’t as deep & growling as it is today. Incredible book series!!

The crazieness!

The love story was very sad. It’s definitely not a story I would read again. The characters were to cerebral. They couldn’t get out of their own heads to enjoy each other. I was left more sad than happy, even though they were back together. It’s just me. I’m a communicator. Even it’s loud. Because I don’t leave things to fester and blow out of proportion, which was what Adam and Mia did. It made me more angry than anything.Sorry but I don’t think I want to read Jordon’s story.

The story line

I think the story line could have been improved in the 3rd book. I felt the first book was the best because it is new and fresh. The second was good due to bringing in different struggles. The last book felt like a huge long wrap up with more internal character struggles.

Overall a good book for a long listen but is it the best book ever. No.

Great story but frustrating

Love the narrators... esp having both in book 3. I love that The couple finally got their stuff straight.. but books 2&3 were so irritating. I had to keep reminding myself that the drama and angst they were cultivating could be contributed by their young age and immaturity. That being said, Mia's story and her growth emotionally as a woman due to her tragedy was a captivating roller coaster. It's a good series, the author did a good job and I recommend the books. Story ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️heat 🔥🔥

Too long

it could have been good. There were good themes in the story, but it was really stretched far too long.

Me every 30 mins, "You are being such an idiot!"

The author can TRULY weave a story and has a great understanding of the source material. The narrators were excellent at acting and playing all the different characters. That being said, I hated it.

I could NOT handle being that angry every time I listened. I guess that means the AUTHOR IS FANTASTIC at making me feel the struggles of each character to such an extent I couldn't bear it any longer.

Book 1-3 were a test of my strength. Only out of sheer willpower was I able to finish books one and two, just to have book 3 start with the same... struggle. Within 15 minutes, I'd removed the audiobook from my device and started to write this review.

How many times can 2 characters repeat the same EXACT mistakes over and over and over and over and over. You get my point. Learning nothing for the experiences and continually putting themselves through some of the worst hells life has to offer. I had to stop.

Did not finish...

Not one of Jason's finer narrations. I simply could not finish. Not very theatrical. Skipped around to see if it would get better....NOPE!

Book 2 is a hard NO for me.

I suffered through the second book the first time I read the series and it was some what ok because I didn’t know what was going on. But it’s been a while and I started listening to the series again, and had forgotten how awful the second book was.

Mia is completely insane and makes Adam feel like he is the crazy one and ruins every one’s lives while she has an irrational meltdown. It’s so stupid I can’t even listen to it and am skipping to book 3. Using someone’s past traumas and fears and semi shortcomings against them to hide your own BS is too much for me. It shows how immature 22 year olds are. Her excuse, is no excuse.
And not telling even her mother was just ridiculous. If anyone could understand and help her through it, it’s her mom.
The whole thing was just so unbelievable.

I really think the author should re-write the entire second book and have the 2 narrators read it in dual narration. It would improve the series ten fold. As I move on to the 3rd book right now, I actually hate Mia. And that’s not something that happens to me with characters that aren’t evil villains when I read a book. If she wanted to evoke emotion, she sure did it, but I don’t think this was what she was going for.

On a positive note, I do like William. My son is autistic and very much like him so she did well with him. I actually like all the characters except Mia and Heath. Heath keeping Mia’s confidence and making Adam feel bad about his perfectly logical actions based on the information he was given is ridiculous and wrong. If they wanted him to stop prying, she should have cut contact completely or grown up and told the poor guy what was happening.

I want to apologize to the author if she’s reading this and II offended her at all. I don’t criticize books lightly and I hate to hurt people’s feelings. But, trying to get through book 2 a second time got me all fired up and I felt like she should know what people are thinking when they read it. Maybe it can help with future characters. Ridiculous, irrational characters that aren’t villains is a bad idea.

Okay, rant over. The rest of the series is pretty good. As evidence by me reading it a second time.
