Book four of the After series - now newly revised and expanded. Anna Todd's After fanfiction racked up one billion reads online and captivated readers across the globe. Experience the Internet's most talked-about book for yourself!
Tessa and Hardin have defied all the odds, but will their fairy-tale ending be turned on its head? After Ever Happy... Life will never be the same.
It's never been all rainbows and sunshine for Tessa and Hardin, but each new challenge they've faced has only made their passionate bond stronger and stronger. But when a revelation about the past shakes Hardin's impenetrable façade to the core - and then Tessa suffers a tragedy - will they stick together again or be torn apart?
As the shocking truth about each of their families emerges, it's clear the two lovers are not so different from each other. Tessa is no longer the sweet, simple, good girl she was when she met Hardin - any more than he is the cruel, moody boy for whom she fell so hard. Tessa understands all the troubling emotions brewing beneath Hardin's exterior, and she knows she’s the only one who can calm him when he erupts. He needs her.
But the more layers of his past come to light, the darker he grows, and the harder he pushes Tessa - and everyone else in his life - away. Tessa's not sure if she really can save him - not without sacrificing herself. She refuses to go down without a fight. But who is she fighting for - Hardin or herself?

drove me insane but loved it to the moon and back. especially the last extra bits. what a maddening love story! not many would have survived it realistically '
O.k. I know the other books weren't literary masterpieces, but the story was sweet and it sucked me in. They were enjoyable and I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next.
This book was just boring! The story was very repetitive and all over the place. At times I found myself thinking "really". Some parts were just repeats from the previous books, while other parts were rushed and unsatisfying. There seemed to be a lot missing.
I enjoyed the series, but maybe three books might have been enough.
Yes because it was a good book. I listened to After three times. Yes I would listen to all four books in the After series again.
There were many moments in this book. One thing I can say is this book pulled out all of my emotions. I cried so much, I laughed I got turned on and I got angry you name the emotion and I felt it.
I loved the way Shane East talk both narrators did a wonderful job. If I had read the book I would not have been able to do the British accent even in my head.
Yes as I said above I did both I cried and I laughed. Hardin said some of the funniest things, but Tessa made me laugh as well.
This is the second time I've given a review on the books that I listened to. The other time was on After 1,2 and 3. I talked about how much I enjoyed listening to those books and this fourth book did not disappoint. I know I will remember this series for a long time to come and will always be looking for something that could top it.
passionate reader and vegan
This series has been a struggle for me...the idea/concept is a wicked and interesting study of damaged people and the cruelties they can effect on others. The story of Hardin and Tessa is FINALLY over with this book and I am so relieved. Actually, this and the first book were pretty decent...the second and third were mostly an exercise in frustration at just how much this story could be drug out with the characters repeated the same mistakes and discussions ad nauseum. I got so frustrated with the characters ALMOST getting a grip on themselves only to make really stupid decisions over and over and over. There is merit in some of Ms Todd's writing and it appears that she has grown some in this last book. Some of her phrasing and situations were genuinely funny and her attention to the struggles of addiction and recovery is admirable. The narrators took some getting used to but things did improve with the addition of Shane East. The only issue is that his Tessa was not nearly as good as Elizabeth Louise's Hardin. I am now happily over After.
Let those who you love know today, tomorrow is not promised! Life experience, Mishawn
From beginning to the end, the time we listen to the series of these books, it is amazingly spent. This author makes all of our first loves well worth waiting for. Think about your first love, would it really work out like this, or is it just our dreams?
I usually don't write reviews, but I had to write one this time. I have listened to these books and it has been an emotional roller coaster for me. I LOVE Hessa! These two have consumed my life for months now. My drive to work is over an hour everyday and I find myself not wanting to get out of the car.
This book in particular was my best and I am looking forward to starting the final book of this series. Tessa made me crazy and Hardin made me love him even more. There love was so evident in every book but this one proved that love can withstand a lot. I want more! I want more of their lives after this book.
My favorite character is Hardin. His growth throughout the series is great and such a struggle.
I love Elizabeth Louise and this is the reason I found this series. Shane has grown on me as well and I enjoyed his voice while listening in my car. I would love to hear more with these two together.
Proof that true love withstands all.
more, more, more!!!!!
Lots more 'I want to be with you', 'I can’t be with you', 'I can’t live without you’ ‘I love you but I’m not good for you’ in this third book of the series.
A lot does happen outside of all of that stuff though. Tessa seems to get stronger in each book. There is no denying that these two love each other but Tessa is really working out what makes Hardin tick. She can read him very well now and knows how to manoeuvre around his mood swings. That being said, he still has a lot of growing to do and there some things that she will just not accept him doing.
“You’re broken Hardin, and I can’t fix you.” - Tessa
Tessa’s ‘friends’ really show their true colours and I was completely shocked at their antics towards her. Zed keeps popping into this story and I still haven’t decided if he is just playing her or if he genuinely likes her. Is he just set on messing with Hardin? Is Zed’s Becca the same one that Noah is dating???
This girl seems to be a magnet to men, there are several vying for her attention and this drives Hardin crazy!
Tessa’s dad comes into this story too and some secrets from the past are revealed to her.
Near the end of the book the story is very much focused on Hardin and his family. Prepared to be blind sided with the events that happen when he is home visiting his mum in England. Total Hardin carnage but also really sad too.
At the end of this book it isn’t any clearer if these two are together or not. Will they end up together - I’m hoping the title of the next book answers that.
