Publisher's summary

The hunters become the hunted in the gripping new Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers thriller from Number One bestselling author John Sandford.

‘We're going to murder people who need to be murdered.'

A group of vigilantes known only as ‘The Five' are targeting the worst of society – rapists, murderers and thieves – and they use their unlimited resources to offset the damage done by those who they've killed, donating untraceable Bitcoin to charities and victims via the Dark Web. Soon, they are the most popular figures on social media . . . but their motives may not be entirely pure.

After a woman is murdered in the Twin Cities, Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport are sent to investigate. The killings are smart and carefully choreographed, and with no apparent direct connection to the victims, The Five are virtually untraceable. If anyone can stop The Five, it will be Davenport and Flowers – but where will the trail lead them . . .

Love Lucas & Prey

John Sandford does Lucas Davenport @ his Best! Just when you think another is not possible - J.Sandford does another shining page turner. Having spent the first half of my adult life in Minneapolis I'm always pleasantly surprised with the city sights & neighborhoods.

Lucas and Virgil

The duo are at it again. Despite the liberal leaning plots still enjoying. Anxious to see what's next.

Wonderful deep crafted story!

Story and narrator both excellent! So many right wing fakes lining pockets! Great to expose a few!

Don't miss this one

A taut thriller with a great series ending. Lucas and Virgil see what others miss.

Good but got preachy

I love this series. But I don't remember it getting political before. Didn't like the preachy anti gun messaging.

moderately good but not one of his better books

I enjoyed this book ok. Sanford has been my favorite author for decades now. I LOVE his books. Lucas, Virgil, Kidd... characters that you can relate too. His writing style is very unique and no matter how hard I try, I can never find another author with the same style, not even close. This book though just felt, forced maybe. For me, it just didn't have his usual flow. This time, he decided to interject his politics into the book which disappointed me greatly. I don't read these type of books to get a morality speech from the author.

My all time favorite Lucas Davenport!

In the midst of tense drama and relatable, real characters I prize the genuine laugh out loud exchanges peppered throughout. Adrian McKinty's Sean Duffy is another series of this type- fabulous!

lots of action, banter and a thrill ride

this was a thrill ride as is every book Lucas appears in. I saw a few reviews about this book beyond preachy but it's not. they missed the point Weather was trying to make at the end. it's an excellent book, well acted and well done! I can't wait for the next one.

Great story love the narrator

Too much negativity on guns. It just proves that the bad guys always have a gun yet the good guys get punished for the bad guys. Everybody has their opinion that to me his books are too hard on guns. I still like him.
