Awesome

The book offers exercises, specific step-by-step instructions in composing a presentation, how to prepare before giving a talk, and many other things to consider (that I hadn't even thought of) when it comes to public speaking. I highly recommend this book for any women in any field, but particular to technical women (women in tech) that are doing more than just a 'technical talk/demo,' but really on any topic. Thanks for writing this!

Great Stuff

The book is filled with excellent, actionable advice on finding a topic, creating a proposal, crafting a customized biography, and outlining and practicing your talk. Great stuff – but just as important is the guidance about the ‘inner game’ of public speaking – presenting from a place of confidence and goodwill.

Perfect

This book was perfect to guide me through that journey and released a lot of pressure I had. The quality of the explanations is outstanding, and many aspects of presenting (some I would not even have thought about) are carefully detailed.

Five Stars

I have to give tech presentations once or twice a year and always dread it. This book changed that. I'm still far from perfect, but at least this last round the nerves didn't kick in and I felt more prepared. And I was. I learned there is so much more to presenting than great slides. Slides shouldn't be the primary focus but instead, come last. This approach to preparing really changes things (for the better). Well, be referring to this book for every presentation in the future until it's second nature.

An inside look at how PUBLIC SPEAKING are born

A really great guide to public speaking. My expert group uses a PUBLIC SPEAKING style of seminar speaker set. The directions given here gave me a lot more courage to bestow my information. It's been 1 week and I am still getting attention on my recent talk.

Five Stars

I love this book because it helped me improve my verbal communication skills by effectively teaching me how to treat public speaking as a conversation and frame messages for the unique needs of my audiences, whether in a meeting or while on stage. It’s for anyone, not only techies, looking to improve their communication skills, which will naturally improve their confidence. I liked the step by step instructions and examples. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.

A very good audible for everyone

This audible cleared up my topics about public speaking, wondering what to tell and how to keep the public interested in listening to what I have to say. Great listen.

Helpful

Initially, I got this book to help me in figuring out how to tailor my proposal talk for a conference. Little did I know the process outlined in the book helps with all forms of public speaking, from lightning talks to leading work meetings?
