Surprisingly Scientific

There is something to be said about a faith system that reconnects you to the people of the past in an increasingly self-centred world.

poor narrator

you would think if you narrated professionally you would learn proper pronunciations. Maybe just learn to read. Asatru is not pronounced asathro. The book itself comes from an author that just reads and rewrites others but not really learning the subject themselves. Definitely not a good book for beginners. Beginners need correct information not parroted misinformation

accessible success.

The first step of my path to my true spiritual awakening began with Essential Asatru. I feel lucky indeed to have found this audiobook and am eternally grateful to Mari Silva for her guidance and commitment to the greater good of Heathens the world over.

What can I say I love buying gifts and I know this arrived way ahead of its scheduled date and the recipient was thrilled. I am sure he enjoyed learning all this audible had to offer as did the others. thank you for such great service.

A little off on pronunciation

Other than the occasional pronunciation mistake, this was a pretty decent book. The only other issue is that the author reccomended a group of white supremacists.

Great book on beginning Asatru

This is a great book for beginners. It does go over the Younger Futhark and not the Elder Futhark, but there are only slight changes between them. Some of the facts are not correct, but the overarching goals are accomplished. This book is pleasant to listen to and the voice is of nice quality. It does not sound like it was read from a script, like some books. Overall, this was a good book and I have already recommended someone to read it. They are just beginning down the Asatru path. Keep in mind, this is 2 audiobooks in one. I freaked out when it said the name of the chapter was "Conclusion" and I knew I still had 3 hours left on the book. But I kept listening and it went straight into the next book.

Great information, horrible narration

The narrator is beyond bad at pronouncing most Scandinavian word . The information from the author is great and worth reading or listening if you can deal with bad narrations

The great starting place for new practitioners. relatively historically based and gives a flavour to the religion to make it your own instead of a guidebook.
