Charley Davidson isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper. She's more of a paranormal private eye/grim reaper extraordinaire. However, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. To further complicate matters, Reyes is her main suspect in an arson case. Charley has vowed to stay away from him until she can find out the truth…but then dead women start appearing in her apartment, one after another, each lost, confused, and terrified beyond reason. When it becomes apparent that her own sister, Gemma, is the serial killer's next target Charley has no choice but to ask for Reyes' help. Arsonist or not, he's the one man alive who could protect Gemma no matter who or what came at her. But he wants something in return. Charley. All of her, body and soul. And to keep her sister safe, it is a price she is willing to pay.

Charley Davidson is at it again in Fifth Grave Past the Light, the sexy, suspenseful, and laugh-out-loud funny fifth installment of the New York Times bestselling series by Darynda Jones.

Awe-Inspiring!

I'm at a lost. I thought the last line of the 4th book was the best ever but Ms. Jones may have topped herself. This series is exceptional. Each one is more entertaining than the last. This one is impassioned from the start. Mystery, action and paranormal all wrapped up with appealing characters.

Love these novels

These are the best books I've ever came across I just can't stop listening. I'm getting discouraged because I'm so close to finishing them and I don't want the story to ever end. Love me some Charley Davidson! and Reyes!

No surprise here the series is still awesome!

Another awesome addition to the series. In this hilarious installment more information is given on what Charley is besides the grim reaper. More suspense on her cases and of course one-liner zingers about Danger and Will Robertson. If you haven't discovered this awesome paranormal series then add it to your wish list and prepare to laugh out loud ;-)

This series just gets better and better!

This is the fifth book in the Charley Davidson series. Right now there are ten books in the series with the eleventh book (Eleventh Grave in Moonlight) expected to release in Jan 2017. These book just keep getting better and better. I absolutely loved this book and could not stop listening to it! This review will have some spoilers if you haven’t read the previous books in the series.

I listened to this on audiobook and the audiobooks for this series have been fantastic. King does an awesome job of sounding just like I imagine Charley would. She also does great with other character voices and with portraying emotion. This is one of my favorite book series to listen to on audiobook.

With Reyes living down the hall from Charley things have really started to heat up between the two of them...in the physical realm this time. However, Charley gets distracted from this when the terrified ghosts of dead blond women start showing up in her apartment. When the number of dead women gets to the point where Charley can barely walk through her apartment Charley knows she has to figure out what is going on quickly.

We learn a lot more about what happened to Garrett Stokes in Hell in this book as well, which was nice. Additionally we find out a lot more truths behind what Charley and Reyes actually are and what their purpose is. Things are really starting to build and it looks like a supernatural war may be on the horizon.

There are so many awesome characters in this series; I enjoy reading about them all. I love the world and love how we keep learning more and more about the alternate world Charley is from.

The story continues to get more complex and interesting with each book. I love that there are individual mysteries solved in each novel and that there is also a larger story arc that is built on in each book...this my absolutely favorite type of urban fantasy to read.

Overall this was a fantastic addition to the series. This series just keeps getting better and better and shows no signs of slowing down. I would highly recommend to those who enjoy humorous urban fantasy with a lot of action. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to read the next book in it.

When?!!

When will Charlie come into her powers!! Im really tired of her helplessness!! She got a little stronger from the 1st book but really... when?!! She is still flighty which can be funny somtimes and other times could be very annoying. The author says that she thought of Buffy when creaung Charlie... I just dont see it... this girl cant even fist fight... she did get herself out of her latest situation herself but... 5 books in and still keep hearing about how powerful she is... but she still dont know her powers... ANNOYING!
Other than that very intriguing story with her cases.

Over all just FANTASTIC

This one diffidently picks up and runs with the ball. The ending is a great cliff hanger but satisfying none the less. The character developing for everyone in the book is progressing beautifully. And Charlie! She is finally adapting and becoming a little harder. You are seeing her transform as she grows into being a reaper and learning the ropes. I would think that would make anyone change, evolve, and grow.

Some really deep "oh no Charlie!" scenes in this too. Like Oh it that really going to happen.... And again, more feelings with the departed. The author is fantastic at covering every aspect of emotions in a book. The performance as always, brilliant!

I truly think this would make a great T.V. series. As long as they actually follow the darn books that is, not take the name and the characters general idea and run with it. No actually let Charlie and all of them come to life. It would be awesome!

FANTASTIC!!!

Love this series. The narrator does a fantastic job at all the voices. The story lines are great and my heart skips every time Reyes is mentioned.
