Love love love!!!

It was life changing. Mentoting others is a win-win situation and the journey is better with others in it. Celebrating others heals and takes out the competition. Just another wonderful book by John Maxwell.

It's like listening to a comprehensive giude

It's like all my best leadership lessons rolled into one, explained, gaps filled in, and added to. a great reconciliation between what I had learned in secular leadership rolls and Discipleship principles from Christianity.

Good start

This book glosses over a lot of the theory and might not be more than what already comes naturally to you as a leader. However, if you find leading difficult or is new to you, this is a good place to start!

More for those needing basic managerial skills

If you’re looking to become a mentor and go beyond the basic leadership skills of management, this probably isn’t for you. I felt like it was the type of book I would want to give a bad boss that lacks empathy and basic understanding of running a team. The type of book I wish they would read, but they would probably never pick up.

Seriously?

Disappointed. The book lacked any kind of depth or practical information. I understand that it’s 101 but it doesn’t even cover the basics of mentoring as a practice. Glad it was short.

This book was a total wast of time.

I was looking for a book far different from this one - it covers mentoring from a 60k foot view without any real substance. I would like a refund to buy a different book.

Dated and preachy

It may have been useful once; attempts to be inspirational but overuses 'always' and 'never', which on second thought....Overlooks the power of context; in my view, rather than thoughtful and instructive is preachy.
