Publisher's summary

Painter Brooke Belle is running from her past and hoping that a few weeks in a quaint country cabin will bring her artistic muse back from the brink. But when she lands smack dab in the middle of Asheland Mobile Park, she's sure there's been a mistake. Not only has her mentor rented her a dilapidated mobile home in the middle of nowhere, but the trailer park is filled with big, burly, growly, flirty, sexy-as-hell lumberjacks. And one in particular is making her think that maybe she's landed right where she needs to be.

Tagan James has a lot on his shoulders. As second in a woodcutting crew of bear shifters, he's got all he can handle keeping his people from tearing each other apart on the job site. But when the beautiful, and terribly human, Brooke Belle lands on his doorstep, all honest and vulnerable and pulling at his animal's protective instincts, he has to decide whether to boot her out of his park to protect his heart, or take a risk and save her muse.

Every bear shifter knows finding a mate can destroy a dominant like him. But as Brooke shows Tagan just how strong she can be, he's second guessing everything - including his vow to never fall for a woman.

Content Warning: explicit love scenes, naughty language, and piles of sexy shifter secrets.

Adult only bear shifter romance.

Such a beautiful story

The fact that their love story went through so much in such a short reading is crazy. I can’t wait to start the next book!!!

Brooke & Tagan- the beginning

Brooke and Tagan are the start to several really fun short stories that have a sexy note to them that you can’t help but love.

Tagan isn’t looking for a mate of any kind. He’s not there. He’s not ready. He’s just blown away by Brooke.

Brooke shows up expecting anything but the Ashe Crews trailer park. She’s wanting to rediscover herself with this break and this isn’t what she thought would do it. Her mentor sends her to this place and it’s the best thing for her. Brooke comes back to life and Tagan is so caring.

There’s drama but it’s manageable.

Mackenzie Harte is, as always, amazing with these characters and brings them to life beautifully.

Enjoyable and easy to listen

This is the first in the Ashe Crew series. It’s my 4 th book by this author. I figured I would start at the beginning.
I loved all the characters in here (even the bad). Tagan was so delicious! He tried so hard to not be Involved but Brooke called the shots and he fell hard. All the others added so much fun and Kellan? Wow I can’t wait for his story.
Wonderfully easy and enjoyable to read. I thought the ending was abrupt. I kinda wanted to see what the guys would do when she returned to the crew.

Just fun!

I have read many of Ms. Joyce's books and I think I figured out why I enjoy them so much. She builds a world in smaller pieces. We are not hit with all of the "world building" in the first book. When I read this first book, I thought it was a bit simple but wanted to read more. I realized by book three that she was giving us the pieces of this world in smaller bites and I liked it. Each set of stories build to, what is usually, a really fun and exciting ending of that set. Reader is not my favorite but I have gotten used to her. She goes on to the next generations. I have really enjoyed her series. They are just FUN.

Will Brooke find a way to forgive Tagan’s secrets?

Lumberjack Werebear is the first book in the Saw Bears series. Brooke is running from her past and trying to find her muse. The place her mentor booked for her is not what she was expecting, though. Meeting Tagan and his fellow lumberjacks, she’s realizing that she wants to be healed and find her inner strength. But when his secrets are revealed in the worst way, will Brooke find a way to forgive him?

Wow, I forgot how amazing this book was! I read it a while ago, but listening to it, hearing the characters come to life, I couldn’t stop listening! Brooke and Tagan are amazing together because they really bring out each other’s strengths and are there for each other when needed. Brooke feels broken due to her past, but I loved seeing her open back up again, trust again, and start to fall in love not only with Tagan, but with the crew and their location. Tagan is strong and reliable, tries to do the right thing, and I love that he couldn’t resist Brooke. The ending of this book is powerful and I love how everything plays out. Plus, it puts into place a few things for the future books! I love that you just fall in love with the members of this crew. Ms. Harte did a great job narrating and putting the emotions behind the characters. I completely enjoyed listening to this book and already can’t wait to start the next one!

My Two Pennies

Mackenzie Harte did a great job on the narration for this book. The characters each held their own personalities throughout. Story wise this is a fast paced shifter WereBears story that I enjoyed. Brooke goes on a trip to help find her Muse again and comes to meet and befriend Tagan, a shifter that is keeping his true identity away from her but can’t help but feel the pull from his inner bear. I wish there was a bit more to the story, I felt it was a bit rushed yet at the same time we’re not left with any missing pieces. I’m curious as to the rest of the men and what their stories are about, I will be looking into the rest of this series very soon.

Good writing and great narrator!

shifters, PTSD, romance, whispersync -----
Wrenching. Frighteningly real portrayal of the kind of PTSD engendered by being physically victimized, and the untenable position that the one who loves her is forced into. Rest assured, though, that love wins through and the happy ending rules.
The audio is performed perfectly by Mackenzie Harte.
