Publisher's summary

Have you been through a love deception lately? Was it a toxic relationship? Were you in an unbreathable place where everything was dark and sad? Do you question yourself how it got that bad and how it started? This is your book if you've been through a toxic relationship and a nasty breakup (or are through one right now). I hold back nothing when sharing my journey with you, from the bottom of the darkest pit of despair to the shiniest top of a mountain.

In this book, you'll find guidance on:

  • Changing from "Damsel in Distress" to "Badass Survivor."
  • "Choosing happy"
  • Pampering yourself
  • Downsizing and feeling good with your body
  • New habits and ways to stop addictions
  • Ways on not giving a damn about your ex and starting a new life with style

We'll go together on a journey of re-self-discovery where we'll find self-esteem, creativity, colorful ideas, and great new habits again. We'll use gratefulness and swear words to feel better, while we'll end up in the book saying, "thank you for the teachings, darling; but now it's my time to shine!"

We'll find acceptance, commitment to ourselves, and a new joy in life. This book will inspire you to be the best version of yourself.

Nice Combo of Author’s Story and Reader Takeaways

I love reading or listening to nonfiction. Too often these days, I'm disappointed by generic, banal, likely AI-written works. This book is like a breath of fresh air. It's precisely the type of nonfiction I enjoy the most: driven by the experience and expertise of the author. There is no way any other person could have written this book. It wholly springs from the author's experiences after the breakup of a long-term relationship. She lays her soul bare as she describes what that ultimately toxic relationship looked like. She intersperses her personal story with actions and activities she did over the years to break this relationship's mental hold on her even after she left it. She's not afraid to be vulnerable and reveal her very real struggles. The activities she mentions throughout the book are often slight spins on others I've seen in the self-help field. For instance, she espouses noting things that make you happy every day, like silly cat photos or videos—she even provides links to her favorites—or the feel of a warm blanket on a wintry day. That's just enough of a variance from the traditional “name three things you're grateful for” to make it interesting. The book has an excellent balance between her story and takeaways the reader could use in her own life as she finds her way while restarting her life after severing an important relationship. Highly recommended.
