Publisher's summary

Lucian: I am a Dragon Prince of the House of Smoke...and I am dying. Five hundred years is truly enough for a man like me. A monster. Yet a 10,000-year treaty will die with me, if I don't spawn a dragonling to take my place. My two brothers are no use in this task. It falls to me, the eldest by a hair's breadth, and yet, I cannot face the horror of another sealing. Another death. Another woman's blood on my hands.

Arabella: I was saved from death in a dark Seattle alley by an impossibly beautiful man who swooped in on golden wings. Now he's taken me to his lair, opened my eyes to a world of immortals I didn't know existed, and given me an impossible task - find him a mate. Then, and only then, will he set me free. He needs her more than he wants; she wants him more than she should. The fate of both the mortal and immortal worlds depends on not just repairing their hearts, but finding a love that's true....

kiss of a dragon

The budding romance between a dragon Prince and a head strong woman is the story in this book. Enjoyable and mysterious.

Half a Story

I was surprised when I got to the end of this book and discovered that it was the first half of a two-part story. At just over 5 hours in length, it hardly seems long enough to justify two books!

The story itself was fine. I definitely preferred the wolf shifter books that first attracted me to this author.

Love me a good dragon romance

Good start to the series! Made better by the best male narrator that there is, Joe Arden. He could read anything and make it amazing. Cant wait to start the next book!

Disappointed

This book started off really great. It reminds a of the Dragon Fury books by Collen Callahan. It also reminded me a bit of the books by Christine Feehan, The dark series. The book has a great plot and the characters are great. I was looking forward to a new series about Dragons and i was disappointed that the book has a major cliff hanger. Being that i do more listening to audio book rather than read i feel let down. Now i either have to read them or hope they come out in audio book form. I wish at least the first three about Lucien would have been in audio book. I did not know it had a big cliff hanger or i would have waited . Other than that the story line is really great.

The story was lost on me

It might have been a good yarn. I just couldn’t get past the female narrator. She sounded straight valley. Even when she was doing male characters. Wtf?!?! So the book may have been good but I couldn’t listen to the valley chick no more... might have made it halfway... this one just read!!

Good book

I really enjoyed this book my only complaint is it wasn’t long enough. I feel it was cut off way too early just so that more books could be made and to try and maximize profit which is never a good idea for a writer.

good

Overall it's very good I like both characters. I like the story line but then I don't like it's a cliff hanger so prepare yourself.

Just missed the mark a bit..

I enjoyed this book and kept wanting to really like it, but..... somehow it was just not developed enough. The characters were ok, but not brilliant, the world building was pretty good, but still lacked something and the storyline seemed to be a bit too shallow.
I liked that there was a deep underlying pain/emotion attached to the books ‘angst’, however it just took so long to come out that I was a bit over it, and then it was all rapped up and resolved by the next page. I was sort of let down by this build up and quick resolution.

The other annoying thing about this was that there was not really a slow release of information throughout the book, which meant that i just kept thinking that the ‘hero’ was a jerk. He admitted he was lying, manipulating and using the heroine, but we were not told why until the end - meaning I just thought she was an idiot for staying with someone who literally had kidnapped her and was intending her harm. He was actually willing for the heroine to die it turns out, so he could solve the problems he was facing, this sort of is not making him the kind generous person that the author kept telling us, I know it was for a good reason, but still......).
The narration was excellent

It was an Alright Read

To be honest, there was nothing spectacular about this book that I would personally make it stand out. It was just like your typical Romance Fantasy except with more girl power in thought. The girl was still weak in the knees and the same for the guy, but there was a nice balance to them both. Truthfully, the reason I gave this novel such high marks was for the writing. The imagery, dialogue, and overall writing was just really smooth. I can't say I was disappointed in any of the writing and that always attracts me to a book. As for the plot, it was typical of your Romance Fantasy novel, nothing extravagant but great to read.

If you're an epic fan of Fantasy Romance adult novels then you'll definitely like this. I'll be reading the other novels to this series as well because, like I said, it was pieced together nicely. I wish the ending was refreshed a little differently but, what can you do. It was something nice to read to pass the time if you have nothing to do. But definitely not something that you have to force yourself to read because it's bad. It's refreshing.

Good story

Maxine draws out the end of her words, which I felt was hard to listen to at times. Lucian is a good character. I love support characters, but not truly finding one in the first book. It has a good story.
