Publisher's summary

She was everything that I wanted.
He was everything that I despised.

Until she wasn’t.
Until he wasn’t.

Killian Cornelii was a walking calamity. He reached inside of me and touched every single inch of my ruined soul, but he didn’t just touch it. He caressed, petted, and captivated it. He tailored me to fit into the palms of his hands. The same hands that possess so much cruelty were the very same that comforted me.

I thought I knew him.
He thought he knew me.
This isn’t a fairy tale or some achingly beautiful story about two soul mates who instantly fall irrevocably in love with each other.
This is a story about a love so painful, so rich, that it destroys everything and everyone around it.
Including ourselves.

Midnight Mayhem is the platform Killian performs his tricks on, but the greatest trick wouldn’t come from him.
It would come from me.

Tricksters don’t have hearts.
They just pretend that they do.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

Gritty Dark Romance!

In Fury Lies Mischief (Midnight Mayhem Book 2) is a suspenseful dark romance with lots of angst and grit.

Saskia is such a bad ass heroine, I really enjoyed her and Killian's journey from enemies to lovers.

Michelle Price and Walker Williams were both new to me narrations, i thought they did a fantastic job capturing the emotions and tension between the main characters.

4 star listen

Fabulous
I think I liked the first storyline better but only just.
Narration is fantastic, I want to know who this female at the ending is! Soooo bad!
We have a cameo in this one from Amos other series which I also enjoyed - Tillie. Obviously this series is set after the first 4 books at least in Tillies series but I liked hearing the snippet of that crowd. Reminds me I need to finish it.

Worth the time to listen to this series amo is a feisty dark romance writer and does it well.
4 star listen. Bring on book 3

Killian and Saskia

This novel is very similar to the first in the series. It's still a traveling circus, Midnight Mayhem. This novel is about Killian and Saskia. There's a lot of mystery surrounding Saskia's true identity and lineage. Like the other novels Killian is a man whore and has all the women falling at his feet. Killian and Saskia start off enemies. There's always a big twist in these novels. I was really very upset to learn about Saskia's past but more mad about all the hatred Killian's mom spewed about Maya. Killian's mom is the devil and she could really care less. Killian deserves better. The show must always go on. If anyone ever thought about running away and joining the circus, these novels would have them reconsidering. This novel is dark and does have trigger warnings.

So Many Twists and Turns, Sexy as Hades

Gahhhh I just loved this book so much. I love all of Amo, but this one definitely ranks towards the top for me. Killian and Saskia were amazing characters and I loved their chemistry and dynamics. Throw in Midnight Mayhem madness with some wild twists and this story was sure to please.

I loved the audiobook too. Both characters were really well done and made this an awesome listen.

I am so captivated with this series (and Elite Kings) in part because while the book focuses on a couple, the other characters are found family and heavily featured. Midnight Mayhem has my favorite overall cast from all of her series so far. They're chaotic, unhinged, possessive and intense and I'm obsessed. In this one we get a bit of a love triangle feel even though we know that Maya isn't really a threat to Killian's and Saskia's happily ever after. I loved her in the first book, but I had a hard time wanting to even like her in this one... Which is funny given the exact opposite was the case for Val in Havoc, who becomes a good friend to Sas in Mischief. We also got to see some EKC characters again which was fantastic.

The twists and turns in this book gave me some good whiplash. I couldn't believe some of the things that came out of the woodwork and yet it all made so much sense. Amo really is the queen of plot twists, they always keep me on my toes. I am so excited to keep reading about Midnight Mayhem and even more excited that Amo's first MMF is up next. Kyrin, Eli and Lilith are going to be so, so good.

Excellent continuation of a favorite series

I have been listening to more of Amo Jones's audiobooks after listening to book one, IN PEACE LIES HAVOC, of this series.

Both of these audios were excellent. I love the world Amo has created. Midnight Mayham is mysterious, fun, and steamy. I am so invested in the characters. Killian and Saskia's story kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. Once again, I couldn't quit guessing what would happen. The twists and turns kept me riveted to the book. I couldn't quit listening. I did not want it to be over. I will listen to this again!!

Walker Williams and Michelle Price are excellent narrators. Their performance was emotional. They brought this book to life. Perfection.

Would have given story 5 stars…

… but there were a few times Amo Jones “broke character” during the lead female’s inner dialogue to awkwardly inject lengthy diatribes about feminism that were out of place.

It wasn’t her position on feminism that bothered me, it was just weird to have the character break into lectures to the readers

Entertaining Listen

In Fury Lies Mischief is the second book in the Midnight Mayhem series and the book focuses on Killian and Saskia. This author has created an incredibly unique and mysterious world with intriguing and and interesting characters. You cannot help but be pulled in to the story line and want to know what is going to happen.

I didn't find myself as invested in this book as the first book in the series, though I can't exactly pinpoint why. I did like both main characters for the most part, though I do wish their relationship had some more development as I didn't always feel their connection and buy them as a couple.

The book was definitely interesting if you like books that are a little outside of the norm and a little darker. The narration by Michelle Price and Walker Williams was very well done and I would highly recommend the narrators. #TheFlock #PinkFlamingoProductions

ALL THE STARS!!

So much to unpack! These books are so intriguing! I love the character development, the story lines, the darkness, the drama... It's so entertaining! I mean there is fire breathing/eating!

Killian Cornelii is part of the Brothers of Kiznitch. He is Midnight Mayhem's "Trickster". His sets and are so amazing and I would love to get to see one for real! I love what he does for the show. I loved his character and all his dark and dangerous vibes.

Saskia Royal, she is new to Midnight Mayhem and she is trying to find her place so to speak, little does she know she is about to truly find her place.. gets a little more than she bargained for I think.

The connection between these two was legitimate and I was there for it. It was real and the push and pull was so good! I love Amo's writing style and characters they are unique and realistic. It's everything for me. Her storylines and books really stay with me, they are all-consuming and addictive. I just love them.

I am excited to dive into the next book to see who is getting their story next.

Michelle Price and Walker Williams were absolute perfection!!

Loving this series

These books never fail to confuse the heck out of me at first..... and by then end.... not only does it bring it all together, but you also feel justified in your earlier confusion! I very much enjoyed Killian and Saskya's story! And I felt like I got to know some of the other side characters better so now I can not wait for their stories as well. The narration was pretty good.... and there were some really HOT scenes! And Killian actually had a few swoony lines!!!
