Publisher's summary

The prodigal alpha returns from the navy to a whole new sea of trouble....

Aspen Grove left his pack to ensure its future, and his own. After 10 years in the navy, his father is dead, his brother is pack alpha, and he’s ready to return. But does the pack he turned his back on still have a place for him so many years later?

Brook Morgan has seen the dark side of alpha wolves - their violence, their brutality, their greed. He has only taken the first small steps toward recovery when Aspen Grove, the alpha who stole his heart then abandoned it 10 years ago, returns to Grovetown. Thank the moon he can lose himself in video games and put the only alpha he'd ever wanted out of mind for good.

After abandoning his rightful place in the Grove pack, Aspen is struggling to find where he fits in, but when the feral wolves who tormented Brook return looking for more trouble, he has to protect his home, and his mate, or risk losing them both forever.

Hunter Moon is a second-chance, childhood sweethearts romantic wolfish romp, featuring one misplaced navy alpha, a mechanic who’s better with cars and video games than with people, and enough apple butter to soothe all woes, in a non-mpreg ABO world.

Good book but audiobook has issues

I really like this series & like this book in particular but the errors in the audiobook were very distracting. Several places where you can hear sirens or other background noises in the recording as well as points were the editing fell short with narration errors that were not cut out. I enjoyed the narration overall but felt the editing issues are not up to the normal level I have come to expect from an audible purchase.

Good story. Good narration.

Like the earlier books in the series, I enjoyed the characters and the plot of the story. I picked up the his series because I was interested in Aspen's story. So I had a little trouble relating to how everyone in the Grove treated Aspen. His father's emotionally abusive behavior is what made him feel like he needed to leave. I felt like some of the pack was continuing that abuse by punishing him for leaving. It left me a little aggravated during certain parts of the story.

Overall a good read/listen with nicely performed narration that had a couple minor sound editing issues in the audio.

Great story, great voice but needs a proper studio

I’m thoroughly enjoying this series, but the narrator clearly needs a proper studio. The background noises are very faint, but sirens, laughing children, yelling adults and I think a flushing toilet can all be heard at points.

liked the narrator, but the sound quality is awful

kinda anoid that I paid full price for an audio book, that sounded like it was recorded in the hallway of a getto apartment complex.

really enjoying the series, but still. :/

Second Best

Oddly and perhaps a little offensively Aspen has always been Mr Second Best. This translates to his book too. I still feel like Black Moon is the best Wolf Moon Rising, but this is a good and close second best. As ever the Flicker Foxes are kind with mental health and trauma. We see a lot more of the darkness I normally associate with them in this book. The Flicker Foxes are excellent with real dark, they understand it's not the gore or the battles but the emotional reaction. It's what makes this and others of their books so strong.
Fell is quite possibly one of the better narrators I've heard, but he fails slightly in this book. He occasionally forgets the point of view and drops the characterization at times do it makes it difficult to follow which character is speaking. Still his characters are real, human, and you can easily understand the emotions conveyed on the page. Plus he has a sexy voice
