AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER

In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…

King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he’s a guaranteed good time—in bed and out—and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.

Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She knows he’s a notorious ladies’ man, but they’re definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport’s resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker’s eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.

Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she’s walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard! He’s fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he’s all in, she'll choose him instead?

Another great Tessa Bailey book

This was perfect to listen to after it happened one summer. Easy to love these characters and just enough spice. Not my favorite narration but not bad! Just wish it could have had a male and female narrator.

5 Stars for Fox and Hannah!!

I had this on pre-order and I am sorry I didn't get to it sooner. This story was just as perfect as the first book with Hannah's sister Piper. I highly recommend BOTH books. It is not necessary to have read the first book to understand this novel, but I recommend it because it's funny, hot and overall a good listen. My one (slight, very slight) critique would be that it took so long for Fox and Hannah to get their stuff together and then the angst of two adults wore thin and could have been edited down a bit. That being said it did not in any way diminish the story or the enjoyment of the listen!

Not as good as It Happened One Summer

Since It Happened One Summer was so good, I was very excited and had very high expectations for this book. It was good. It was worth a credit and I’ll probably listen again. My main issues is that I feel like the feelings Fox and Hannah developed for each other were kind of unexplained, and that was probably supposed to be explained by the months of texts we didn’t see. I think a few more would have made it make more sense. In It Happened One Summer, there was an immediate physical attraction between Piper and Brendan, but Brendan wasn’t immediately falling for her. They had their issues and slowly realized the good in each other and opened up. But in this book (SPOILER?), Fox apparently was all in immediately and honestly idk where Hannah’s feelings came from. I guess in the many texts we were not privy too.

Despite this, I enjoyed the story. There were like 3 or 4 sex scenes that were very steamy, but that’s not surprising since this is a Tessa Bailey book. Honestly there was less sex than I expected. The storyline itself was interesting and I enjoyed seeing Hannah figure herself out and help Fox with his own issues.

Lauren sweet was good, but there are other female narrators who’s male voices I prefer (I’m looking at you Andi Arndt). Lauren’s is a little creepy. Additionally she would pronounce “Hannah” like H-aw-nah approximately half the time. I wondered if it was because she thought that’s how people from LA say Hannah, but I’m from LA and that is definitely not true. It wouldn’t have been an issue if every other sentence didn’t mention Hannah.

Would have been 5 stars but....

I loved this story, just as much as I loved It Happened One Summer. However, the narrator was the same and she created absolutely horrible voices for Piper and Brendan! She already HAD voices for them from their story, and yet still she made Brendan sound like a nasally, annoying asshat and made Piper sound.....just wrong. it made listening very difficult.

Cute

This book was cute. A nice pallet cleanser. I do wish there was a little bit more conflict though. Every conflict that the main characters might have had with each other was solved within the same paragraph it seemed. But that was also what I was looking for. Over all I did love it.
