Our new home was supposed to be a chance to leave our past behind. But was moving here the worst mistake of our lives? Narrator’s voice fluctuates wildly.
The narrator has a voice with a wide decibel/shrill range such that I have to continually turn the volume up to hear low voices she is doing or normal narration tone, and quickly lower it when she is doing emphatic words or a female or young person’s strident or fearful voice. Even during an otherwise uneventful stretch of narration, her emphatic words hurt my ears and I am again trying to find a middle ground of understanding the low tones and lowering the volume to protect my ears on the higher tones.

Good story

Absolutely LOVE Shalini Boland!
I’ve read quite a few books by this amazing author and have never been disappointed! Shalini Boland is INCREDIBLE! She has written books of so many different styles and genres and excels at them all! Some may think, “oh great, more vampire books”….and I say, “YES! Bring them on”!! I highly recommend his book for all of you vampire lovers, as well as those of you who are skeptical. I can’t wait to start the 2nd book!

The story line!!
I was so pleasantly surprised by this book. It was free, so one never knows :-) but the storyline was interesting. The characters were believable. There’s that feeling of twilight, a bit, but only in a good way!

This was amazing I fell asleep the first round, newborn tired 😴😩 and all...but baybee when I awoke it was going down‼️‼️‼️🤭🤭so good I couldn't wait to startover so I understood what it was Poppin off the way it was and I was NOT disappointed 💯 this was free too I want to buy the next book soooo bad 🫣🥴🫨 ugh just not long enough to be spending no credit I feel so lost ‼️‼️‼️ it's sooo goodt and the narrator did a bloody amazing job all across the board I'm rooting for them 🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳💯

It’s worth getting past the beginning chapters.
The beginning of the book was a bit hurried, but once all was set for the main storyline, it progressed smoothly. I enjoyed the parallel story lines, as they made this vampire tale different to others I’ve read. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
