Thank you! I've fasted 24-48 hours in the past, painfully! I needed to do a 7 day fast for health reasons and so, got your book in hopes it would help me through. Did it ever! Today I finished my 7 day water only (and a little green tea) fast and I know I was successful because of your information. I didn't quit on day 2 knowing day 3 and beyond would be easier. Without your information either I would have quit or been miserable for the entire time. Instead I breezed through and rode with the difficult spots. During my fast I got to my ideal body weight though I expect to add some lbs back on in the coming days. On top of all of that, great narrating Jimmy! This book was well organized and easy to listen to which I cannot say for many books of this kind.
Imperative to share this information with friends and family as so many myths are debunked.
Highly recommend both audio and physical books.

Loved it! As with Jimmy Moore's other books, this book provides practical advice for fasting/eating along side easy to understand explanations for the science behind how the body uses energy. The methods in this book are evidence-based and supported by years of medical research, unlike so many other dieting books. Definitely one of the best books on nutrition, preventative measures and lifestyle choices to put healthcare in the hands of patients rather than the pharmaceutical industry. Much needed information in today's age of diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome and the preponderance of unsubstantiated nutrition advice on the internet.
Fung explains the science behind weight and eating issues including the seriousness consequences to our health as a society as well as why it's so hard practically to implement change. with both the knowledge and experience he them explains very successful strategies to deal with these issues succesfully. I was able to complete a 5 day fast easily even before I was done reading the book.
To many the initial response will be 'I can't do that' to whit I say TRY IT, you might surprise yourself.
This is the (huge) missing link in the global health epidemics. I am so grateful to have read (listened to) this book. I left feeling excited and encouraged. I will be sharing this with everyone I know. A must read!
Excellent book that gives in depth knowledge on fasting and fat burning. More importantly, a regular fasting protocol coupled with intermittent fasting is a great and doable approach to great health and permanent weight loss.
although I find fasting a very interesting and effective historical dietary mechanism that people have used either voluntarily or involuntarily in the past and present times, this book is seriously full of s***. Some of the things that this guy says are obviously untrue like for instance stating that people always listen to their doctors and quit smoking because their doctors tell them to so on and so forth. People rarely listen to their doctors especially when it comes to addictions. He also states that eat less move more does not work, yes it does. People don't listen to their doctors and they do choose not to eat less and move more. There's just so many things that he says in this book that are obvious correlations that he has made that are not facts. I have found myself laughing many times listening to this. I still think that fasting is a good and healthy mechanism to use, but some of the correlations in this book are just utter nonsense.
"Like finding the light switch."
I'd tried the 5-2 diet but it didn't work out for me. Now I understand why. Since reading this book I've developed the confidence to manage my hunger and now it's gone from a banging drum to a gentle tap.
I shed a stone in a month and I feel great. This is so blooming easy - and obvious. I'll update this review in six months and tell you if I managed to keep the weight off.
"Reversing My Diabetes"
This guide to fasting is full of excellent content for anyone looking tonnes fasting to step up their level of health.
I bought this book because was very recently diagnosed with diabetes type ll. I've been following the guidelines laid down in this book and I'm amazed at how it has affected my blood sugar level. I will continue to use the information in this book to reverse my diabetes and I would recommend it to everyone who owns a physical body and wishes to live a longer, healthier life.
The subject has been covered elsewhere but not as well as this. Very comprehensive. Well researched and well presented.

You won't regret listening to this! So informative and well researched. Fasting is so achievable.
Great book and has inspired me to start some more serious fasting. Now comes the harder bit!
