I thought the material was outdated overall. Narrator was not my fav. Not much new in terms of advice I’d already heard.

Excellent

I know that a lot of reviewers said that this book contains nothing new, but I think the most important part of the book is explaining the difference between nutritional and exercise science and the latest fad meant to sell diet/weight loss books. This is not a book that will tell you what to do for the next 12 weeks to slim down so you can go back to the way you currently take care of your body at week 13. It's about making permanent changes in your life. For me, I would agree that there was no new information but I am a very active person who adheres to a very nutritional diet. For a lot of people that I know who suffer from confusion due to the newest diet craze or marketing buzzwords I think this is an excellent book. I am definately going to recommend it the next time someone asks me a question about diet, nutrition or exercise.

Solid

What made the experience of listening to The Body Fat Solution the most enjoyable?

This book was not kooky and it did not lean too heavily on one culprit as being the cause of obesity. The author went back to the basics.

What did you like best about this story?

Diet books always have a hook. They'll focus on one thing like: insulin control, mind control, eliminating certain food groups, or eating at specific times.This book contends that there is no new "magic bullet" for weight loss. It is by far the most reasonable diet/exercise book that I've read. Venuto reiterates simple ideas that dieters already know, but need to hear again.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have fallen for diet plans that say carbs, sugar, emotions, the hormones insulin, ghrelin, and leptin, or wheat products are the sole contributors to weight gain. Many of these books were written by doctors. Tom Venuto believes that all of these things are a piece of the puzzle, and he prescribes calorie restriction and challenging workouts as an antidote. It's not new, exciting news, but the reader will know immediately that this guy got it right.

Very useful information!

Information contained within this book was extremely helpful. The narrator was above average and the author wasn't trying to sell a fitness program. He was providing a service to the reader.

Best book I've read on weight loss!

This is the best book I've read on weight loss because it hits on all areas of the subject. The physical and nutritional parts of weight loss are explained. However, an often over looked area of mental toughness is also explained in the book. If your struggling to find the answers for your weight loss journal you'll probably find the solution explained in this book.
