Excellent Information For Everyone

Where does Super Immunity rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

My ranking is 5 stars, but 2 stars goes to the reader. Disappointed by the reader.

What did you like best about this story?

The detailed information & clear explanations

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He greatly distracted from this excellent book. He lacked the passion of the author & had gross mispronunciations of hundreds of essential words.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but difficult to absorb with one reading/listening.

Any additional comments?

The reader/narrator diminished from easy understanding of many critical explanations by his mispronunciations. I was listening & learning from a medical science background.

Take it with a grain of salt

This book has many insights into the correlation between the standard American diet and the rise in cancer and other diseases. It makes the assertion that keeping to a super food diet will eliminate disease from your life and lengthen your days which is a pretty hefty promise but only supported by anecdotal testimony and observations of other country or historical groups that have followed a similar diet (not the super food plan).. I found the repeated message of "people get sick because they don't eat this diet" repetitive and lacking authority by more careful data collection for this specific plan.

I did find the pdf for precise charts and recipes which other reviewers said was not included.

After reading the entire book, I do think that this book is advocating a vegan diet. Animal protein including eggs and dairy, is discouraged (the author's food pyramid places it in the tiniest, sparsest area). There are historic and present world populations of people enjoying a dairy rich diet that are very healthy and disease free.

I hope that people who are suffering from dread diseases and those with conditions not able to be treated will find this diet helpful as was indicated in the book. For practical application for the majority of people, I think incorporation of these foods on a daily basis is very important. But I find that I prefer following the Weight Watchers plan as a much better way to find foods best for maintaining a healthy life while enjoying foods that make it a pleasure to live on the planet while we're here.

The narration is distractedly poor. I commend the narrator with the ability to pronounce the highly technical words that are prevalent in this book. I think that the author should read his own work to be able to provide a smooth-sounding and natural flow of thought that will allow the reader to better process (sorry) the facts presented.

Life-saving book (and pdf is here)

Dr. Fuhrman is a national treasure. I, my husband, and many of our friends and family have had health issues cured by following Dr. Fuhrman's sensible, logical, and scientifically sound recommendations. These issues include depression, psoriasis, allergies, high cholesterol, weight issues, and high blood pressure.

We now eat the way Dr. Fuhrman recommends because it is easy and delicious. We will never stop eating this way because we are not willing to give up our new found health and energy. Good health and vitality are the body's natural state when you give it the nutrients it needs to thrive.

Essential Reading

Extremely helpful in understanding how our foods affect our body’s immunity! I highly recommend this book! I listened to the audible book (at 1.5 speed) while reading on the kindle (I find I retain more this way). The book is 60% reading material followed by menus and recipes to help you get started eating the “Nutritarian” diet. I’m already a Nutritarian and would recommend this book to anyone concerned about their health, whether you have a health concern/condition or not. Eating a Nutritarian diet has helped me tremendously and is a very enjoyable way to eat! Thanks to Dr. Joel Fuhrman for this excellent book!

Great Information

I have listened to this book 5 times now. The book is packed with great information, so much, in fact, that I have had to listen multiple times to take it all in. Every chapter contains life changing (for the better) information, from food specific facts, to antibiotics, to disease fighting info, this book has it all. Whenever I find myself turning to processed foods, I open the PDF and make Dr. Fuhrmans Tomatoe Bisque soup, it is delicious and filling! And I never geel bad about "over" eating these nutritarian recipes because I know they won't make me fat or unhealthy. My 4 year old and 6 year old eat The Black Bean Brownies every morning for breakfast. I tell them it's chocolate fudge and they DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. Thanks Dr. F!

With many recipe

What did you like best about this story?

This book describes about how to get immunity against communicable and non communicable diseases like cancer. The best thing I got to know through this book is folic acid differs from folate itself. I've not distinguished them, honestly. Folic acid intake may cause carcinogenesis!Besides, we can acquire some pieces of knowledge very useful.I recommend this book anyone who concerns about nutrition preventing diseases like cancer.

The performance of Ned Sparrow is very good and easy to listen. His voice is comfortable.

The PDF contains a huge number of recipes. We can try the super immunity menu for 2 weeks!

Great content, poor delivery

Although the content of the book was highly informative, the flow of information was regularly disrupted by the narrator's frequent stumbling over words.

I did some independent casual research previously to reading this book, after being struck with an antibiotic-resistant infection after a surgery. This research was confirmed not only by the near-immediate clearing of the infection after implementing dietary changed, but again by Dr. Fuhrman's book.
