I started doing the Ketogenic diet before I got pregnant. And honestly, it played a big role with the conception. I guess it's because I'm eating healthy, and my body has the right nutrition that it needs. And since I am planning to breastfeed, I would continue this diet after I give birth. This diet is definitely one of the best for lactating moms.
I love that this book contains recipies for not just one meal but all three. Sometimes books focus on breakfast or just dinner and lunch is always left out. There are even shakes for "snacks" or replace a meal.
I liked the "is the Ketogenic diet right for you?" Section. Lowering ketosis is the key to loosing weight with the ketogenic diet. This diet ins't intended for long term use, and only to drop a few pounds. Hearing about what eating less carbohydrates can/might do to your body was very interesting.
This was my first book by this narrator, I liked her voice. She was very clear and has an easy voice to listen to. No accent and speaks slowly and clearly without sounding like a robot.
Yes I feel this book was perfect for listening to all in one sitting. It was just over 2 hours. If your getting some work done where you can multi task and listen to a book and work at the same time this is perfect!
This was helpful and informative for learning to break into this diet. Different from paleo and atkins, this one gives step by step guidance I find easy to follow. The two week meal plans for breakfast, lunch and dinner are helpful.
I've heard about Ketogenic diets for a while but I wasn't so sure they'd be right for me. I should have known that Valerie Childs would have a great breakdown of how they work, what to expect and ways to make the adjustment pretty painless.
I was very impressed by the depth of knowledge in this book and the great narration from Marissa Shortt. I could see myself going through the steps included as she spoke. As I work to lead a more healthy life, in all aspects, I think this diet will be a great part of that transition.
Thinking about getting a copy of this for my mom for Christmas so she can listen on her way to work. Great book.

I could not really get past the terrible writing.
You know how you sometimes end up on a site in Google because of the keywords but it offers very little information and seems to be a compilation of other sites? Where a lot of words are written but not much is really said? Where it sounds like a barely second language speaker is doing the writing? This is like that. I have a lot of respect for the English language and it is very hard to get past the omission of "the" and bad grammar.
Although the ketogenic diet is beneficial for many health issues, it is especially important in healthy weight loss. The presentation of the information in this audio book is very well researched, and it is presented in an easily understandable way. I've learned some nice tricks that keep me motivated to slim down and eat healthy. Most of the recipes are "yummy" and I've lost 7 kilos so far (for 3 weeks of diet). I'm sure this audio book is going to help a lot of people and I highly recommend it.
I've recently heard about The Ketogenic Diet and this audiobook got me interested in trying it out. One of the things I like about this diet is that there are so many foods allowed (cream, cheese, bacon...), that you would not be able to eat at different diets. The author also explained how the diet works and what is going on in your body. The fats are being used instead of carbs, so they leave your body faster. I recommend this audiobook to anybody who wants to lose weight, be healthier and enjoy good recipes!
