Hard Target is a mercenary MM romance set in Austin and the Texas Hill Country. It features tattooed hotties, adorably complicated twinks, best friend antics, an illegally confiscated vineyard, and a team of killer do-gooders.

This is the first book in the Wrecked: Guardians series. Several characters from my series about a gym for combat vets, Wrecked, cross over in this series. While you don't need to listen to the Wrecked books to enjoy the slightly more nefarious Guardians, lots of people end up wanting all the juicy backstories.

Zane Daniels!

I’ve never listened to Zane Daniels before but I want more. He does brilliant voices and accents with loads of emotion. I enjoyed the story (even though I found out mid way through the book that it’s actually a spin off series, which was annoying because there were a lot of characters/backstory that I was missing) some of it was a bit unbelievable but it made up for it in enjoyablity and that it actually made me laugh out loud a couple of times. I’ll be getting the next one it this series.

Excellent narration of one of my faves!

I am notorious for being picky about my narration. Which is why when I started listening to Zane do one of my favorite books, I was thrilled by how well he does. Between the accents and the emotions and the bedroom talk, it all worked. Kelly is a master at dialogue and characterization, and Zane pulled that out for this audio in spades.

Fantastic! Super fun and interesting!

I read and listen to hundreds of books a year and am super happy when I find one that stands out as a five star in my mind! This book is action packed goodness! So many well-crafted characters. A plot that is interesting and well written. Great humor is woven in seamlessly through the story. Thankfully, humor is not forced or ridiculous, nor is it a cheesy rom/com. The focus on the romance aspect is equally and delicately balanced with the overarching plot. It is over and above a simple ‘MM Romance’ but way better than a simple ‘Action/Adventure’ This story is a refreshing escape into an action packed, loved-up, testosterone filled vacation! This is the first time I’ve heard Zane Daniels narration. He does a fantastic job distinguishing the multiple voices in the story. His light Arabic accent is awesome- not over the top or overdone. Totally with the price of a book and audiobook!!! It’s one I’ll be repeat reading/listening to.

The narrator is top notch, and the story is great - building over-the-top but still human characters that you can't help but love.

Amazing

The characterization, build, heat, and action are the best I've seen in ages, giving some of my favorite action-fuck stories a run for their money. One of the other reviews said "I am in awe," and I can't put it any better.

Love, Lust and Adventure

I love the characters in this story! Kelly Fox does a great job with dialogue and character development, as well as development of relationships between characters. She balances suspense with sweet romance and adventure with not too much gore. Also, the sexy dialogue gave me ideas to use in in my own relationship ;) #everettandrafiforever

Spectacularly done!

Zane Daniels has become a favorite narrator - he is absolutely amazing with accents, emotion and bringing my favorite books to life. Match this with Kelly Fox’s insane talent and you have a recipe for success. Stellar book and so very glad I listened!

This story was amazing...

I love the story, the author and the narrator, Zane Daniels did an AMAZING job 😍 (this is the first time I've heard this narrator, his voices for the different characters was so good).

Her best yet

I’ve been reading all Kelly’s books as they are released, including Scout and Evie’s book, and I’ve enjoyed them all, but Hard Target is her best yet. It was laugh-out-loud funny, emotional, super hot, and had some great action scenes where the characters get to be bad asses! I also love the guardians concept and this book introduces the characters that will become important in the series. I really loved Parker, some of the scenes between her and Rafi were my favorite. I can’t wait for more guardians!

Narration was fantastic although I did think Rafi’s accent was a bit strong for someone born and raised in the US, even by immigrant parents, but what do I know, maybe that’s normal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook!! Zane Daniels did a fantastic job bringing to life Kelly Fox’s characters; I’m positively itching for the rest of the series!!
