Publisher's summary

Would you like to have more power and influence with the current or future man in your life? Would you like him to treat you better and make more efforts in the relationship? However, have you found getting him to change to be challenging, frustrating, even impossible? Then instead of just settling for how things are (as the resentment builds) or breaking up with him yet, you can learn to have more power, influence, and persuasion with him to truly change and improve. You can find out how better things could possibly be. No, you can’t “make him change” or “force him to change”, but your approach to promote his efforts will go a long way toward whether he chooses to change or not, and for how long. Here, you will learn an improved approach for the better, lasting results.

Hello, my name is Dr. Randy Gilchrist. • Move away from arguments, power struggles, and frustration.
  • Develop a more effective approach for change based on choices and consequences.
  • Cultivate more effective influence and persuasion skills with him as you help him change and improve.

Bonding with your guy

I really liked that it matters to him whether I’m in a good mood. It’s true… I can tell he reflects the mood I’m putting out. If I’m mad it’s upsetting to him. Also the part on women letting themselves go, and men feeling judged by the woman he has at his side. It’s true people size a man up by the woman he keeps, and how well she’s kept is a reflection of him and his success. This is a Good book with very good principles and tidbits of information that can help a woman learn more about her man.

“Getting” your man to change….feels icky

This book, although very well organized, felt really awkward & a little archaic . It relies on the basic premise that women can “get” her man to change by thoughtfully administering incentives and “punishments”. Withhold the things he wants until he changes and/or giving him what he wants when he does the “right” thing.

I know Dr. Gilchrist is trying to simplify things for us and “give it to us straight”, but honestly, it wasn’t palatable for me.

I don’t doubt that there is many who could benefit from his insights…. And maybe I was in the wrong frame of mind…. But it was just not my vibe.
