Perfect guide for foraging! A must-listen

This book is a great resource for anyone interested in learning about edible wild plants.
I have learned a ton of new information, particularly informative chapter on identifying poisonous plants and their effects in humans body.
As someone who grew up on a farm, I was surprised to learned so much new information about edible and non-edible plants that the author discusses although some of the plants were familiar to me, I was not aware that they could be foraged.
However, I do think that beginners may find some of the information daunting at first, and may require some additional guidance in the field for your own safety.
I highly recommend.

Strong foraging resource

This audiobook covers every base I could imagine as a beginning forager. It addresses concerns and questions like which plants are poisonous/should be avoided, and what you can expect to find given your climate zone/region. I also appreciated that this guide includes a section on how to prepare these plants/mushrooms as well, which not a lot of other foraging guides have. Looking forward to getting out there and applying my new found knowledge!

Perfect for Beginner Foragers!

I knew very little about foraging before listening to this audiobook and now I can confidently say that I am ready to get out there and start foraging my own edible plants! I appreciated the education for beginners toward the beginning of the audiobook and learned a lot! For example, wild parsnip is toxic and can irritate your skin and you should avoid plants with umbrella-shaped flowers. I thought the universal edibility test in Chapter 3 was very interesting and a great way to determine if a plant is edible, which is especially helpful for beginners. Something else that is very helpful is the lookalikes for each plant mentioned since some are poisonous and should be avoided at all costs. I loved all the recipes in this audiobook and can't wait to try out the vegan cream of mushroom soup! This audiobook is perfect if you want to start foraging, but need some education and guidance.

Informative and helpful guide!

The cover is what drew me to this book, but the information is just as good. The author's tone is informative and knowledgeable. I loved the section on poisonous plants and the list of all the edible plants you can find in many areas. The section on preservation answered all my questions, and the wild food recipes were unique. Overall really enjoyed listening to this book.

A Great Beginners Guide

I thought this book was awesome, because I grew up in a small town in the woods, but I never learned how to identify the wild edibles that were around me. This book really is perfect for anybody beginning to “forge the land” because it not only goes over several wild edibles, but it also goes over the poisonous ones, gives you plenty of food recipes, and explains how you can easily store them.
