Recognizing Toxic and Poisonous Wild Plants

I used an earlier addition of this feild guide and found it very useful in derermining edible plants. I found food I would have likely not eaten without this reference. Its great for backwoods camping and backpacking or even desert hiking. No info on mushrooms. And includes nutbearing trees.

This the most up to date listing of west coast

This the most up to date listing of west coast mushrooms, and includes current species names. The photography is excellent-- clear, crisp and color accurate photos with succinct information and descriptions.

The only shortcoming of this guide is the absence

The only shortcoming of this guide is the absence of "territorial maps" which would help the reader focus on those mushrooms in a particular geographic. Having those would probably raise the price of this excellent guide beyond what many potential buyers would be willing to pay. I, for one, would pay the additional costs for that feature. Hopefully, a future addition will include territorial maps.

Easy to read and understand

Easy to read and understand even for those who struggle in that area like myself. Formatting and outline could be better. Text is also really small. The book’s already thick, so it doesn’t make any sense to cut corners for size.
