Finally Micha's Story!!!

Micha and Angelina story is soooooo goood!!! Wow... I did not read this series in order, and let me tell you, I am soo glad I went back to Micha. Loved him. He is so smexy. Wow... i even loved him all the other books too. An I love how Angelina went and got her man. Awesome. This book proves that you can get out of the friendship/sister zone in a big way. Totally worth the credit... Loved it. Loved it...

Erotica, Sensuality and Love with BDSM

What did you like best about this story?

The sex scenes were very hot - although I'm not sure about the whole BDSM pain=love business. Although I suppose that is why it is fiction/fantasy....the stalker/Angelina story was really well done.

Without giving anything away, the end was very dramatic - especially as Angelina weighs her decisions, makes up her mind and Micah's reaction.

Have you listened to any of Caroline Wintour’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I've no complaints-she is fabulous!

Adult themes and language, NOT a soft, feel good romance. My favorite of the Sweet Series...each can stand alone but best read in order.

If you like it bloody rough and full of stuff

This book in the Sweet bdsm series focuses on Micah and Angelina. The series does variations in excplicit bdsm; the sex is not for the faint of heart. Micah’s kink is pain, both receiving and giving. Rough and tumble in the sheets can be fun, but I don’t see the appeal in getting whipped to the point of drawing blood. Four men doing a tag team over the course of multiple chapters also ran long. I liked that even with the domination and punishment themes, the treatment of both leads was still respectful. Also, although generally in the submissive role, Angelina was strong and not simply a damsel that can only get out of trouble by being saved. She planned and executed her life instead of wringing her hands and bemoaning her fate... and even gave Micah the figurative kick in the pants to get past torturing himself ... hmmm.... maybe even gave him a literal kick, or rather, whip, to painfully demonstrate she was capable of being his HEA.

More often in erotic romances, the complaint is a skimpy storyline that simply bridges the gap to the naughty bits. But here, this was the first book in a while that had me fast forwarding through the sex parts, and investing in the story. This was a police mystery involving a stalker as well as a romance with a rich back story for both Micah and Angelina.

The narration was pretty good, although it can be hard sometimes to distinguish the males (just a hard fact of life that female narrators have less range for their male voices). Faith’s voice is lower and less girly in this book compared to book 1, and I liked that. There is also a good amount of interaction with characters from the prior books, and more introduction to Connor, who presumably will get a book of his own.

On the whole, a solid “edgy” bdsm romance.

Shocking at its best!

I was a little sad that the entire series wasn't available when I downloaded this so I started here. I wasn't dissapointed but I was shocked! I immediately feel in love with all the characters. The way they all seemed to embrace someone new into their circle.

The hot parts were hot and pinkened my cheeks. I don't blush easily but there were parts that made me whisper, "Holy heck! They are doing what?"

Worth the credit and I can't wait to read the entire series!

Sexually Brutal and emotionally deep

There are few sex scenes, that I have read or listened to, that bother me, in the least. I am probably more accepting of other people’s sexual proclivities then most but, some of sex scenes in this book made me cringe. I understand the dynamics of a D/s relationship and I get how a submissive is only truly fulfilled when they give the gift of their submission to a dominant that they feel is worthy of said gift. However, Micha and the men he invites to share he and Angelina’s sexual encounter, are physically brutal. I admit, I do not and have not ever received pleasure from any pain inflicted on me. I know that some people do but since I’ve never experienced it, I really don’t get it. However, some of the extreme sexual acts performed on Angelina, should have caused real physical injury. I think Ms Banks could have gotten the message of the depth of Angelina’s devotion without her sex partners trying to tear her rectum open while simultaneously trying to make her aspirate on semen. It was too much. ( I have never made that statement in any other book review) I’m glad we learn more about Micah’s past and the depth of his emotional torment; it rounds out his character. We also get a little glimpse of Cole and also get a hint of what might lurk in his past; a future book, I’m guessing.
This book also has a mystery to solve and damsel in distress to rescue. There is also an update on Julia And her man.
All in all, if you can make it through the brutalities, you’ll enjoy this book.
