Micah Hudson has painful secrets he's run hard from. He has new friends, a new life, but he's about to be confronted with the one person who reminds him of all he's tried to forget - Angelina, the sister of his oldest friend David. She knows everything about his past, including how he and David fell in love with the same woman, and how they decided the best way to prevent her from tearing them apart was to share her between them. But then a terrible accident left Micah alone....
Micah lost the two people who meant the most in the world to him. Angelina lost her only family. And she kept her deepest secret close to her heart. Her love for Micah. No longer willing to wait, she decides it's time to go after him and bring him to his knees. She knows his secrets, his desires, his kinks and fetishes, and she'll use whatever it takes to reel him in. Behind the easygoing, loves-women exterior lies a man with dark needs and passions. She can give him what he wants. But will he decide she's what he needs?

"Banks continues her Sweet series with a book that can stand alone but brings back earlier characters." (Romantic Times)
The story is actually more like a 2.68 for me, but that's not an option. So I rounded up. I was hoping for a Lora Leigh-like type of erotic book. And this story is more erotica than romance too. But it's more hardcore than I like. Meaning, sexual pleasure is based largely on giving and accepting physical pain. And, though I don't have a problem with that sexual taste, it's just not what I like to listen to. But if it's up your alley, then this story is for you. The story was not just junk used to make room for sex acts; the story was ok on its own. It passed the fast-forward test (fast-forwarding just to get through the book and not thinking I'm missing anything) until the last 2 hours or so of the story, which is not bad. Lastly, the story is believable, which is always a plus. No problems with the narrator at all.
Say something about yourself!
For the love of all that is holy why on earth would Mrs. Banks allow this narrator to narrate her books?!?!?!?!??! Caroline Wintour is the absolute worst narrator I have ever heard for erotic storytelling. MAYBE if she tried a historical romance where it's okay to seem like you are trying to make a diamond out of coal (if you know what I mean!)
I read this story a few years ago and I thought it would be fun to hear it narrated...um...NO! It's a great story about a sub finding peace with the master she was always meant to have and a master finding his perfect sub. There were MANY hot scenes, like melt my earphones I better not listen to this where ANYONE can overhear...WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!! This was my favorite in the series and worth buying the kindle version all day long but skip the audio at all costs.
Oh MY!!!! I have read and listened to over 200 romance and dark romance/erotica novels. I have NEVER came across one that shocked me or made me feel like it was even close to going too far. I've listened to Captive in the Dark and it didn't shock me like this book. I LOVED this novel. But be warned it is not for those mildly interested in BDSM books, This one is intense and on the verge of being too much, which is PERFECT for me but not for everyone. I am absolutely taken by this series and love the characters. The characters are so well written you feel like you could be right there in the story. Worth a credit? absoFREAKINGlutely!!! Worth spending 20.00$ to buy if you don't have a credit? OH YEA!!!
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While I can't pretend to understand the dom/sub lifestyle, I have totally enjoyed some of Maya's Banks books for the engrossing characters she creates. However, some of the scenes in Sweet Temptation were just horrific; it's not okay to treat another person worse than an animal. One minute the characters, an extended group of close friends who consider themselves family, are humorous and caring. Next minute a supposedly caring man tells his friends to inflict as much pain as possible on a woman who loves him. Not cool!!!
Yes. Touching story of how we can truly miss for the forest for the trees. We can be so caught up in our own world of pain and problems of the past we can miss the opportunity of the future.
The display of unconditional love Angel demonstrated towards Micah trusting him with it.
She did an overall good job
No. Just proud of Micah in the end.
No spoilers! Love HOT, sexy books w/a plot. No vampires, paranormal, teens 4 me. I also review in exchange for books-lots of fun surprises!
The sex scenes were very hot - although I'm not sure about the whole BDSM pain=love business. Although I suppose that is why it is fiction/fantasy....the stalker/Angelina story was really well done.
Without giving anything away, the end was very dramatic - especially as Angelina weighs her decisions, makes up her mind and Micah's reaction.
Yes, I've no complaints-she is fabulous!
Adult themes and language, NOT a soft, feel good romance. My favorite of the Sweet Series...each can stand alone but best read in order.
