Publisher's summary

"Scorching hot and full of heart! An unputdownable must-read!" - New York Times bestselling author, Laura Kaye

There's sin, and then there's literally going-straight-to-hell sin...

Being in lust with my dead brother's wife pretty much guarantees that one day I'll be the devil's bitch. But Eden Gordon works with me, so it's getting harder and harder to stay away. I promised my family - and him - I would, though.

My days as an MMA champion are behind me. But whenever I see her, with those wicked curves and soft mouth created for dirty deeds, it's a knock-down fight to just maintain my distance. "Hard Knox" becomes more than just the name of my tattoo shop. However, surrendering to the forbidden might be worth losing everything...

Poignant love story & sizzling hot tension

A fast-paced, tumultuous love journey with smoldering hot sexual tension and chemistry between two damaged characters who don't feel they have the right to want or love each other because of past events.

Emotional

This one caught me by surprise. I judged the book by its cover ! Way more emotional and heartfelt than I anticipated. The strain with the mother in this book sent me. In my opinion, she was way out of line, and while I understand grief makes you do crazy things, her placing blame for that grief was rage inducing. Didn’t place this in the taboo category personally - they were just two consenting adults who loved each other at the right time. With their shared history and trauma, it felt natural.

Great book; didn’t care for the narration

Naima Simone is a genius and I absolutely love this story, but I found the male narration to be so off putting I couldn’t finish. He’s a great reader and I think I’d enjoy his work with a mystery or thriller, but this material and his performance weren’t a good match for me.

Sin and ink

This is an entertaining, enjoyable story. The enthusiastic way the narrators acted out this story made it that much more enjoyable.

Just The Right Amount of Angst

This was really good and really 🥵. The plot is the angst between a man and his brother’s widow who he is in love with. The tension is great but not annoying. It last a for just the right amount of time. It ends with an HEA too.

The audiobook narration was excellent! Rock Engle and Mackenzie Cartwright were good choices for these characters.

I thought I would like it more

premise great. story good, narration ok. sweet story but should have been more angsty I feel. I don't know what I just wanted more of something. it was an easy listen with likeable characters and pretty well developed. I want more of the secondary characters too. so that is saying something. Four stars because I was in, not five because my attention kept waning.

Angst filled read

Knox has been in love with Eden from the moment he first laid eyes on her. His love for her never wavered even while she was married to his brother.
He pulled from the depths of her grief, works with everyday at his tattoo shop and now she can't fight the attraction she is feeling.

Taboo?

I found our hero and heroine to simply be two people in love. They didn’t betray anyone. The timing was finally right. The circumstances in which they finally are able to come together are far from the best but in the end, love wins out. I guess I can see how someone would say never but then who really knows when and how they’ll fall in love?
MMA and college area not a match for me. Although the brother’s tragedy was supposedly not brought on by fighting the risk of head injury and permanent damage is high. Not the sport I’d see someone who’s serious about education going into and yes I know the same could be said about some other sports as well. Just my opinion.
Better than I expected. Lots of feels.
