Publisher's summary

On steamy Pryan, never-ending sunlight and plentiful rain have created a jungle so vast that humans and elves dwell high in the trees and only dwarves live anywhere near the ground. From the treetops the aristocratic elves sell weapons to the other races, whose incessant warfare sends a steady steam of profits and essential resources skyward. Now, generations of dissent and race hatred will not heal—not even under the threat of annihilation at the hands of legendary Titans. Armed with little more than their wits and prophecy, an elf, a human, and a dwarf must unite to try to save the world from destruction.

Excellent!

I read the books when they were first published. Unfortunately after all these years I couldn’t remember much of the series other than I had really enjoyed it. I found the narration good and it was nice to now have an audio version to experience the series again. I also enjoyed the humor more that pops up more in this book than the first. A few Tolkien references pop up that make me laugh.

Elven Star

Elven Star has been on my to be list for years. I’m glad I finally got around to it. The Death Gate Cycle is a lot of fun.

An amazing story done right!

I’ve previously read this title, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was even more enjoyable as an audiobook.

It’s great!

I have read this before many times. I love this series. The only thing that really bothered me was that the narrator pronounced the word Titan as Teton. It makes me think he doesn’t know anything about Greek mythology.

Memories

One of my most favorite series as a teenager. A long time ago. Rather nice to hear.

Death Gate Cycle book two-not to be missed!

It’s a very interesting story and an excellent continuation of the first book. Truly unique. The reading was genuinely great, the different voices for the characters really stand out, and you always know who is speaking. Really looking forward to listening to the next book!

Tytans

The description of this book states Titans but in the physical copy of this book it is spelled Tytans. So the weird way it's pronounced in the audio book is likely correct. Think about the other words that are different in the book and it'll make more sense to you. Excellent work by the narrator.

What was the Sartan’s Plan?

Each book adds more to the main storyline, but it takes a bit of a side story to get to it. Some new characters are added and Haplo is starting to get more of a background to interest us as the reader. Narrator was good.
