Publisher's summary

A sizzling second-chance romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author L.A. Casey: Frankie pushed her first love away. A decade later, he walks back into her life, but is she prepared to trust again?

When rock star Risk Keller shows up in Frankie’s diner with his heart on his sleeve, it turns her world upside down. Letting him go was the hardest thing she ever had to do. For years, his voice has been a reminder of everything she sacrificed, and now it’s time to face the music.

For Risk, coming home shows him what he’s always known deep down - every song, every gig, every drink, every girl - it’s always been about Frankie.

There’s no denying their intense chemistry. But Risk still has a career that takes him around the world; Frankie still has a sick mother she loves too much to leave. Can they overcome everything in their way to give first love a second chance?

The narration kept me hooked!

A definite drama and angst filled second chance romance. I loved the devotion the characters had for each other, even when Risk was being a dumbass it was clear how Frankie was on his mind. Honestly, I would have loved the entire thing if it wasn’t a repeat loop of miscommunication, impulse reaction and downward spiral. Frankie was great, I loved how easily she loved and cared for other. She definitely helped contribute to mistakes being made but even then she tried to put everyone first and still did everything she could to support Blood Oath. Risk, it was easy to see he struggled over Frankie. Even when he was young and stupid he was completely devoted and with his past it was easy to see how he slid to a darker place when she broke up with him. Unfortunately, I was expecting more from him when he came home. He was sober and kept speaking about how clear his head finally was but then he would overreact to everything that involved Frankie… I’m sorry, if a girl runs to escape seeing you for the first time in a decade it most likely means she is struggling to move on, not that she doesn’t care about you at all… all of his reactions and consequent vengeful comebacks just seemed like something I would have expected from his character when he was still drunk or high, not sober.
Even though some of the push and pull wanted me to step back from the story, Will Watt and Sienna Frances kept me hooked. Their narrations added so much to the story and really brought out the emotions of the characters.

Surprisingly Great!

I really, really enjoyed this one! A sweet second chance romance with some angst in between the beginning and the end. It was a great read! I can't wait to read more from this author!

Emotional, engaging story

My first time reading this author. Wonderful, engaging story. Great narration. There were some choppy parts in the second half and the occasional rationale by a main character that I questioned, but the overall quality and context was a win for me. You could not help but root for this couple.. what a rocky road to a sweet HEA. I just finished, but I feel a book hangover coming on. Worth the credit.

Love a good drama, but this one took a lot to finish.

So many turns, and most of them negative. Just agonizing at times. The overall story was good, but it took me a long time to finish it. Just so depressing all the things both characters went through. I really liked Risk - right up until the concert scene. He lost me there. Not one I would listen to again, but glad I did get through it.

Soul wrenchingly beautiful

As always, LA Casey puts her characters through the wringer and pulls every single one of your heart strings, but in a soul wrenchingly beautiful way. You will fall in love with Frankie and Risk, feel their hurt and pain. The narration was wonderfully done, to the point you won't be able to stop listening.

Good storyline

I was glad they figured it out. I wish they would have figured it out sooner. I felt for Frankie when she lost her mom.

Just, amazing!

I don’t do written reviews very often but this book gave so much to the listener. Love, pain, happiness, an emotional rollercoaster, steam, sensuality and more. Very moving.

Longest story ever

If you listen to books when you have down time this fits mold. Happy, sad,
angry this one takes you everywhere
And thank God they end up together.

Emotional Second Chance

I enjoyed this listen. It's a bit extra angsty and maybe could have done with so much drama but overall i enjoyed and felt the narration was done well.
