Not bad, honestly.

Yet another great short story by Winslow
5 of 5 stars.
Winslow has a gift for language - the cadence and color of his prose delivered by Ed Harris' pitch perfect narration make this an engrossing short read with a satisfying ending (albeit slightly unrealistic). I can forgive the smaller things when the overall experience is so good.
Ed Harris is a skilled narrator which melds perfectly with Winslow's writing.

Let’s go surfing now….
It is a hard luck story about a beach bum who loves to surf on the shores of the east coast. I will go cross country to hear Ed Harris read a phone book from 1979. His narration kept me listening, it was okay.

Not a romance, not at all.
A decent short story. Nothing like a romance. Its really a mob thriller. It’s a story about two young men in an East Coast beach town who are both trapped in their social economic circumstances. Gambling addiction is the origin of the forces at play. And these forces drive the two young men into a series of dramatic events. Decent twists and turns. Still, not a romance.

Interesting story
I enjoyed this short story and the situation’s and lessons that the protagonist learned in it. Youth is the time when limits are often tested. That was certainly the case in this story. Whether it was booze, drugs or as in this case gambling, excessiveness can lead to a persons demise. I loved the scene where the uncle brought them onto the boat to scare the daylights out of them. Overall great book I would recommend to anyone! The narrator was perfect for it also.
