Publisher's summary

It all begins with a single dead person coming back to life. One flesh-eating corpse roaming a lonely house. Until three unknowing teenagers stop by.

Trapped in the basement, they must fight not only for their lives, but the fate of the world. If the infection gets out, disaster will spiral.

But they are unarmed and cut off from the world. And to make things worse, one of them is already infected.

It all begins with a single dead person. That is all it takes to end the world....

24 meets World War Z in this new, fast-paced zombie series, in which we follow the end of the world - one day at a time.

I like zombie books so this was my go-to genre

This was a very short book. It leaves the reader wanting to hear more and I suspect there will be subsequent books by this author.

Don't let the short length deter you!

Seriously glad I jumped into this series! While the short listen time may make you a bit weary to get this, for the price it's worth it!
The author does a great job of adding just enough description to really bring the world and characters to life while at the same generalizing or omitting certain specifics. These really give the reader the sense the story could take place anywhere, in the US, EU, you name it!
This was an incredibly enjoyable start to a series and the translation was on point!

A great first story

Great first book to a fast pace story that I enjoyed from start to finish.

The author lost me at “Mulatto”

Full disclaimer: I did not finish this audio novella due in part to the uninspired story and the low key bro vibe. I stopped altogether at the author’s use of the racist term “mulatto.” Then I thought that maybe this book came out 30 years ago despite references to The Walking Dead 😂. Nope. It has a publication date of 2022. You’d think that there’d be editors for this sort of problem. 🫣
