3.5 Stars The Ending Was Deflating!!

This was a well written book. I enjoyed most of the story, and had a good time trying to predict what was going to happen next, or the overall plot. One minute I am leaning to one character as favourable, and then I find myself despising them later. I ended up liking characters, and could feel my emotions begin to spike when dramatic things would happen with them. It keeps your attention, and has a great plot. The main issue is the cliff hanger ending which really annoys me. Having said that I am going to get the next book. I was privileged to be provided a copy of this book for a honest and unbiased review

J. Scott Bennett was good with the delivery of the story although I found his voice a little monotone

Outstanding!!! I loved this book!

I loved all of the twists this book had! I did not figure out who the killer was, which is so hard to find in a good book. The author of this book was new to me, while I have listened to several books performed by the narrator. I think J.Scott Bennett did an outstanding job with this book. He added so much with his distinguishable voices for the various characters and put the right emotions into it as well. The imagery in this book was vivid too! I can't wait to listen to more of this series. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. This book was such a great story that I will listen to it again to see if I missed any clues on who the killer was.

Good Listen

I enjoyed this book, the main character is actually likable and while he has flaws they don't drag him down as much as some main characters with flaws do. I can see him moving forward and the story was good and I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely going to keep on with this series.

So Much Fun!

Right from the start I felt like I was dropped into the swamps of Louisiana; J. Scott Bennett succeeds in bringing this story to life in a dramatic fashion. This murder mystery unfolds in an incredibly satisfying way, with twists that are hard to guess and characters with lives you'll want to follow. There are a few stand outs in this story that I won't soon forget (such as the old woman who is sure her husband will come home, even though he has recently been eaten by an alligator). I enjoyed this one from top to bottom, I would recommend it to any of my friends and I look forward to book 2!

Great book

This was an amazing murder mystery. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it with the way the book began but it surprised me. I really enjoyed Clint's character. The end was a big surprise usual I can figure out "who done it". I would definitely recommend this book and plan on getting the next one in the series.i received this book for free for an honest review.

Excellent!

I loved this story, cant wait for the next one, 5 stars! This author needs to get more books out. just wanted it to be longer.

Narrator

Exciting book. The narrator's voice seemed older and weaker than that of a robust thirty yesr old man. it was a distraction.

The storyline was OK but seemed too far fetched. The reader seemed too old for the character.
