very good series

fast moving with a lot if twists and turns. a lot of interesting characters. after reading this book I bought more books by this author.

Couldn't put down

Skeptical at first but was hooked within a few minutes. The narrator's "meh" delivery helped set the mood. Twists and unseen turns made this a reason not to go to bed but stay up to see what was next.

Story Lines. Narrator was fantastic!!

First in the series. Can’t wait to listen to all the rest!! There were no slow beats. This is the series I’ve been looking for ever since
the Bosch series ran it’s course. This series is like Bosch .02.

Main characters, good reaction towards each other.

I'm a romantic, they should finally hook up together, and it sounds like they might. Then you get a sneak preview of the next book and you know they don't..

old time detectives

I liked the banter between the cops. I also like the reference to old detective novels.

Storyline draws you in!

I stumbled across this series and I’m so glad I did. It has a great story line, characters, plots and voices. Really draws you in and makes you feel for the characters. Have loved each book and can’t wait to hear the rest.

Riveting

Although there are a few glitches in each book that are hard to believe, mostly that a cop whose been around as long as Stone would make such blatant mistakes, I still have to keep reading / listening. The books are worth the credit.

Excellent Detective "Who Done It"!

The simple review is that everything about this box set was great. I honestly feel like I watched a TV series.

Great voices, story moved along so well no down gaps.

Very entertaining no outlandish shootouts. Enjoyable characters with a touch of personal tension. All four stories were well written.

I listened to the whole series

so this rating is for the series as a whole. I love this genre. But had come to the conclusion that I'd listened to everything good plus a lot that was bad, and anything else I listened to would just be
repeats of the stories I'd already heard. New names, new characters, same old stories. So I was surprised and happy to find this series. I feel like Mr Banner tried harder to put together interesting protagonists and unusual stories instead of just re-writing the stories that r out there. He also does a good job with the romantic relationship. Some writers just kill off the woman in a series to avoid having to do the relationship thing, but he does it well. The narrator is good too.
