Publisher's summary

A true crime podcast yields new revelations about a shocking murder in a riveting novel of suspense by Washington Post and Amazon Charts bestselling author Loreth Anne White.

True crime podcaster Trinity Scott is chasing breakout success, and her brand-new serial may get her there. Her subject is Clayton Jay Pelley. More than two decades ago, the respected family man and guidance counselor confessed to the brutal murder of teenage student Leena Rai. But why he killed her has always been a mystery.

In a series of exclusive interviews from prison, Clayton discloses to Trinity the truth about what happened that night beneath Devil’s Bridge. It’s not what anyone in the Pacific Northwest town of Twin Falls expects. Clayton says he didn’t do it. Was he lying then? Or now?

As her listeners increase and ratings skyrocket, Trinity is missing a key player in the story: Rachel Walczak, the retired detective who exposed Pelley’s twisted urges and put him behind bars. She’s not interested in playing Clayton’s game - until Trinity digs deeper and the podcast’s reverb widens. Then Rachel begins to question everything she thinks she knows about the past.

With each of Clayton’s teasing reveals, one thing is clear: he’s not the only one in Twin Falls with a secret.

what happens when we bully and are racist

This was a very enthralling account of just how far reaching prejudice and mistreatment can reach. This story may be fictional, but I am sure it is very close to reality. Every person over 12 should read this.

Perspective on Small Towns

Apparently doing the right thing isn't popular in small towns! Loyalty is the main driver! Now if you're an unfortunate outsider trying to fit in... proceed with caution and at your own risk! Loreth Anne White doesn't hold back on the ugliness human beings carry out!

Excellent

I've listened to hundreds of books this year and this is one of the best. I didn't love narration but the story more than made up for it.
Great listen!!

A little over dramatic

I liked the twist...at times it seemed a little over dramatic. It was a hard sell on Maddy all of a sudden change of heart made her look more guilty

Emotionally Captivating

This story totally high jacked me! Every available moment I had to 'get back to hear what happened next'.. The narrators were extremely good, filled with emotion and effect.

Real life book.

A real life book! So many go through what Lena went through and keep everything inside. I hope people who read/listen to this book can try to help be better humans in this world.

Brutal Story

Rachel’s narration is a bit annoying- especially when it’s very emotional. The story is good but parts of the crime are brutal and heartbreaking.
