Another great book by Kirk Mason. You will not be disappointed. Also Melanie Hasting's narration really brings the story to life. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

great series

I received a free copy for an unbiased review. this is the border between a slice of life and adventure. and does an amazing job on leaving you on a cliffhanger. I am waiting for the 2nd one and will listen to the first again.

Really good

Really good and fun story. The storyline is easy to follow. Not over the top spicy. Great narration.

Entertaining for what it is

Fun story with likable characters. Story is very slice of life. I thought some parts were a bit off such as battle preparation but overall just here for a good time.

Fun twist

This book is a fun twist on the secret magic society the rest of us just do not know exists.

UGH!!! It took a while to get to the good part.

I like Ms Hasting voice. male, female or narration, she does great work. I would say the first 3rd of the AB could be heavily condensed. Once it picked up it was very enjoyable. I did purchase this AB. I would recommend for something to listen to between series.

very entertaining

right up front I'm just going to say that I recommend this book to anybody reading this review. I found the story immensely entertaining. the writing team did a fantastic job in my opinion and the lady narrator executed an awesome performance. the story starts out with the main character being in a job where he's essentially just going through the paces. his boss is a real piece of work who thinks that he's some sort of brown noser by doing just what the job requires of him and nothing more. he's got an uncle who apparently owns a mine and has passed away and left it to him but he's only found out about it now a year later because the paperwork appears to have been sent to his place of work and his boss didn't give a crap to make sure that he got his mail. so he quits and heads to collect his inheritance which is partial ownership of a house, shared money and complete ownership of a mine. the thing is is that this place apparently exists Beyond a magic Veil keeping it hidden from the rest of the world. the mine is also sort of decommissioned. there's a magical barrier and supposedly a demonist trapped with inside. the village is a historical Village akin to Fredericksburg or Williamsburg. whichever one has the Civil War reenactors. only for this Village it is historically female and only female with the exception of our main characters uncle. so now he's got to get the mine back up and running while taking care of the problems Within and living with three lady roommates. finally, I'll simply say Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the audible listener.

Great start

Can’t wait to see where this goes it was a little slow at first as the world started to be built but I enjoyed the characters a lot and the mine!

fun and cute

loved the world Jack found himself in and the girls with their quarks and ways of dealing with stress looking forward to the next book.
