Publisher's summary

She's the most beautiful woman he's ever met. She's also his archnemesis.

It would be an understatement to call Trevon Beaumont an accomplished monster slayer. He's traversed the European countryside upholding the legacy of his clan one completed mission at a time for the whole of his adult life. Now he's on his most perilous quest yet: slay the cruel but beautiful Countess Dracula.

Just as the two of them seem ready to conclude their final battle, however, an unexpected act of betrayal sends them hurtling together through time—bloodbonding them, thus entwining their fates. Reappearing in the twenty-first century, they must get jobs and find a place to stay while they decide how best to proceed now that they are unable to continue their battle to the death.

But when Dracula rapidly develops a romantic obsession for Trevon, things get complicated. Even worse, Trevon's forced proximity to the queen of all creatures of the night means that his own self-control is constantly tested. What will become of their budding relationship? Will it be hot?

Headpats After Dark is a wholesome yandere romantic comedy written for men who enjoy the trope of obsessive women with a few screws loose. This is a work of fiction. If your significant other acts like Dracula does in this novel, those are red flags, people. Take heed.

Hilarious

If you’ve played or watched anything Castlevania related, you owe it to yourself to read/listen to this book. I haven’t laughed that hard in years. The voice work is top notch. I can’t say enough about the talent and the book.

Crazy is right.

This is a good story but not my cup of tea.
Jealousy is such an anathema to me that it's hard to enjoy a story about it. It seems like such a childish selfish emotion that people eventually grow out of as they mature.
This vampire character is definitely the one for it but it just makes no sense to me.
But this book is well written and very entertaining.
So if you like Knightley's work, like I do, and you like crazy vampire girls you're going to like this book.
I give it 6 stars out of 5.

Exactly as described. A fun funny little story. Recommend to anyone looking for a story on the brighter part of the dark side.

Yandere for the win

Another funny series that I'll enjoy rereading again and again. The romance is quick but heavy and mentally unbalanced highly recommend.

Finally a quality Yandere FMC Solo Romance!

First off, this whole book is a thinly veiled parody of Castlevania with a muscular whip wielding vampire hunter and a female Dracula that end up pulling a 'the devil is a part timer'. That is to say transporting our medieval fantasy protagonists (in this book through time, instead of into a different world) into 21st century suburbia. You have a holy slayer of evil now having to find a job at a gas station, and a monstrous vampire that has slain thousands becoming a little yandere gremlin that wants to watch movies, and I'm sure will end up one day soon becoming a full blown Dorito eating Mountain Dew guzzling 4-channer. If that turns you off, fair enough. if it doesn't, or like me that concept doesn't do much for you, but you can deal with it if it's a quality story, then this book is a real treat.

I've long been enamored with Yandere FMC romances, and sadly hardly ever do any actual romances with a female yandere lead ever get explored properly. there usually either a villain trying to corrupt the hero to be evil with them like Esdeth from Akeme ga Kill! or are relegated to being a cooky non main love interest in harem or harem-lite works. Even when they are the main or one of the main love interests like in many of Virgil Knightly's other works, it's almost always still in a harem or harem-lite work where they are one of many, essentially checking off a box in the bag of fun tropes authors use to differentiate the girls in the harem. They can be done well (like Knightly's Incubus RA series), but their obsession and craziness can only be a footnote or subplot in those types of stories.

With that being said, I can't stress enough how refreshing it is to have a book that's beginning to end focused on exploring a yandere romance. This book is not the best romance, or even erotic romance I've ever read, but it does something fresh and interesting with more than passable quality, and with superb voice acting from both of the dual performers, which is more than enough for me to give it a standing ovation.

If the author ever reads this review, thank you for penning a quality product into this far to small niche. While I hope this book and series gets a lot of sales, if the numbers are poor and you feel discouraged, I want you to know that I at least loved it. These types of works are something I wish there was a lot more of. I know your bread and butter is harem works, and while I read them and enjoy them, I would urge you to consider doing this more often as this was a blast to listen to.
