Publisher's summary

I don’t apologize or regret the destruction I’m about to cause. I’m at peace with what I must do...nothing can or will stand in my way. Not even the raven-haired beauty with golden eyes who haunts my dreams.

No one is innocent in the story of my life. Fairy tales don’t exist!

I. Make. No. Excuses.

Everyone needs to atone, and I’m the man who is going to see to it.

Troy was a great choice for David!

Mmm… I can say I really like Troy Duran’s performance for David. Veronica Parker narrated Charlie well but I just wasn’t feeling her as much I was Troy. Their narration together was enjoyable enough but I feel that Troy was the one that shone bright. I couldn’t stop listening even though I’ve read the book. It was a whole new experience. The steam between the characters is fire and the chemistry is on point.

Atone

So many twist and turns. I could not put this one down. You should start from the beginning of the series so you can follow everything that is going on. I love David and Charlie’s story. Wish it wouldn’t have taken David so long to grieve and come to terms with everything. Be we all work at a different pace. You must add this one to your TBR!!

Amazing work

I’m addicted! When I say I’m addicted that’s just what I mean. I don’t do anything but listen to these books. I’ve given up tv. I finish a book a day. You have to listen!

😡so much better than book one🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Although this book is definitely an emotional roller coaster, the story, and the Hero and Heroine are more likable. In book one, the heroine is a liar and a manipulative and the Hero is selfish and cruel. It all ends up working out but, I couldn’t get over my distaste of the that couple’s lack of true depth.

The heroine, in the story, is kind soul and a good person. The Hero is tortured, grief stricken and an addict but, he is a good man in his heart and soul.

They definitely have a rough ride but, they stay true and honest, to each other; which I much prefer.

The cliffhanger at the end, however, makes me wary about the road the next couple will travel.

TROY DURAN IS THE MOTORCYCLE MAN!!!

AUTHOR CASSANDRA ROBBINS
The 2nd book is a good continuation of this series. Cassandra writes a story proving that soul mates can overcome lots of obstacles and still get to be happy in the end.

NARRATOR TROY DURAN
This narrator's voice fits David's voice perfectly. He was made for this type. I have never heard a story from him he didn't make even better!!

NARRATOR VERONICA PARKER
This was my first time hearing this narrator and she was good, a little to monotone for me. I liked her pace though, there were no long pauses or background noises.

MAIN CHARACTERS
David 'Poet' McCormick 21, 30
Charlize 'Charlie' 18, 26

SETTING
Motorcycle Club
West Coast

SERIES OR STANDALONE
This is a series and should be read as one. I have a huge issue where I can't read them out of order.

STEAM TO PLOT
The steam to plot was terrific. There was enough steam to keep it spicy, but the plot moved along nicely too.

KINKS
Public/Outdoor/Witnesses
Dirty Talk
Roughish
A Play.
Shower

THINGS THAT ANNOYED ME
I wish that this would have been longer. He leaves her than seeks her out and says he's bad news. I know he's fighting demons so I get it, but I still get annoyed by it.

THINGS THAT I LOVE
The steamy scenes were well written. Charlie knows he'll be back and rocks her confidence. I like how they show people fight their demons.

Expected more.

Honestly, the first book was great, this book is basically the same story with different characters. Don’t get me wrong it’s entertaining, but the voice of the female character is just bland... there is no sultry or enticing anything in her voice so the intimate scenes are just so... uninteresting. She was not a good choice. There is no emotion in her voice. Like she is super uncomfortable reading this.

Anyhow, I’m still going to listen to the next book.

different than the 1st

these main characters were so much better than the first book. She is wonderful and he is too but he is so very broken, it's sad. I definitely liked underlying the story but so much, way too much, se*.

Atone

David/Poet and Charlie are star crossed I swear. When Charlie was almost 18, David comes up to her and tells her he wants her but naturally would need to wait until she is 18. David had a baby mamma and a child at the time but he only saw her. They had a connection and formed an unlikely friendship before all of this. Something tragic happens and David takes off. a10 years later he comes back to get revenge on the people who ruined his life. This book was amazing and intense. I listened to it through Audible but it was amazing the narrators were fantastic.
