What will I do now?
This story has completely entranced me. It has been in my thoughts and even in my dreams for two days. The story is brilliant as are the performances by the narrators. It’s a beautiful match between the characters and the narrators. I highly recommend this audiobook!

Fantastic!!!
This is honestly, one of the BEST audiobooks I’ve ever listened to, and I’ve listened to a LOT.
It’s exciting, lovely, dramatic, suspenseful, surprising, sad, and everything in between.
I HIGHLY recommend this book. I know it’ll be one of only two books I listen to again and again.

Raw, gritty & emotional. Great story & narration
I’m a huge Jodi Ellen Malpas fan and when I read that she was releasing a Mafia romance I was a little unsure as it is not a genre that I normally read. However having said that I found this book to be well written and I quickly became invested in the story.
This is a gripping, raw and dark book about Danny Black, a man who is easy to hate and yet he got to me on a number of levels which shouldn't be a surprise given Ms. Malpas past heroes. Rose Cassidy is a pawn and is taken to capture the attention of the mayor who owes Danny.
Shane East and Vanessa Edwin did an outstanding job with this raw and gritty story and their performances were spot on.
However Rose is perceptive and sees under the unemotional, cold and brooding mask that Danny shows the world to the man despite herself she is attracted to. Rose was such a strong woman and not afraid to stand up for herself which I admire. The chemistry between them is crazy and impossible to ignore. The twists and turns only added additional layers to this complex book as did the secrets and lies.
Can Rose convince Danny that he is so much more than what he thinks he is? Can she bring light and love into his dark world and make him feel again?

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
This was the first book I’ve ever read from this author and I absolutely loved it! The character development is phenomenal. I was hooked from the first page and never lost interest. The performance is outstanding, I have listened to many books narrated by Shane East and this one has to be one of his top performances ever! Vanessa Edwin was incredible too. I’m so glad I got this book!

i live this book!!! Danny Black can take me prisoner any day. I loved every bit of this hook. So addictive that i lost sleep and couldn't put it down . Can't wait to start book 2.
