Fantastic Series!!

This was another fantastic series from Annie Anderson!! ! I couldn't stop listening and I wish it didn't have to end. Sloan and Bastian are so good together and the rest of their crazy family they have made are so wonderful to read about. An amazing ride full of twists and turns, ups and downs and all kinds of crazy underworld chaos in between. Annie never, ever disappoints. Cassandra Parker is a great narrator. After reading all the books, then listening to them, she brought all the stories and characters to life for me!

Love it, Amazing Balls!!

The MC was amazing, I love the way she talks, the don’t give a shit what anyone thinks and interacts with the other characters. Several times I laughed so hard that my kid thought that something was wrong with me! Oh and I loved the narrator Cassandra Parker, she is the one that really helped bring the MC alive for me. Really see the story

Best Reader ever

I ejoyed this story line a lot but what really made it the best was listening to the reader and thoroughly enjoying her way of describing not only the story but Sloane's thoughts and attitude. Her tid bits of realism made me enjoy listening even more!

Love this!

The story is great and the narrator is the best for this. She had me dying of laughter in parts and tearing at the heart strings in others.

Narration

Cassandra Parker has a great voice but the CONSTANT rising and falling with every single word is so irritating. It’s not just in appropriate spots or even at the end of a sentence but EVERY WORD. It’s feels like riding a carousel. I’m assuming the cadence was intentional in an attempt to translate the sarcastic attitude of the main character but it was just annoying. Could have been so much better but it made Sloan (the main character) seem juvenile and immature.

I loved this series and Sloane and Bastian.

Arcane Souls World is an excellent series. I was a wee bit tired of the internal monologue which normally never bothers me in books.

I like the insight. But it became extremely repetitive. I like to see a strong MC coming into their own and excepting both strengths and weaknesses over the course of a series. I love snark but Sloane obsessively babbles in her head and it borders on almost being neurotic with the same nagging fears repeated in all three books. If this were a longer series three books in wouldn’t be an issue but it continued to the end. I get her world changes fast in totally unexpected ways and it’s a stream of constant gut wrenching turns from each moment to the next. But I’d hoped to see the nagging fears be overcome and the snark turn into solid confidence in herself, her team and chosen family.

Although things tie up wonderfully in a happy ending which was heart warming and Sloane becomes more than she ever dreamed. I felt a few things deserved a bit more closer. Overall I fully intend to continue exploring the world in the companion series’s so none of my criticisms are in any way a deterrent just a personal preference/observation. The series is excellent and I have no issues with damaged heroines. They are actually my favorite kind so please don’t think I didn’t love the books. And I do highly recommend the series. I am reviewing the finished audio package so listening all the way through back to back may be the actual issue, had I listened independently I might not have noticed the repetition as much. However, even with all that said it’s a great storyline with wonderful characters Bastian is definitely a keeper and he is the perfect love for Sloane. Definitely give the series a try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Wow! The narration

This is exactly the type of story I general love and binge on. Unfortunately, the narrator was so bad I couldn't get beyond the first few chapters. The narrators tone, cadence, and voice fluctuations typically help to create a visual as well as an audible story. That didn't happen. It was confusing, not lining up at all for me with the story itself, and created a new character that didn't fit into the story and was impossible to listen to. I'd love to try it again with a different narrator. For now, I'm marking it finished at chapter 4.
