Publisher's summary

All I’ve ever wanted to do was write good music and sing my heart out, but my father expects different from his eldest son.

No matter how hard I try, I can't please him and be who I really am.

But everything changed the night a hot little city girl showed up at our local bar. Her skirt was tight, and her heels were high, but she was classy - a business woman. A talent agent.

I couldn’t help but notice the way she watched me as I stood on the stage, my guitar and a mic my only companions.

What did she want from me? A long night of passion?

The cold steel of the hood of my truck pressed to her back, and my warm hard body tucked against her front?

I couldn’t tell for sure, but it didn’t matter.

Outside of ranching and singing, I started to yearn for one thing...her.

David Dawson is the oldest brother of the rowdy Dawson boys, and the one his father depends on most to help run the family ranch. Unfortunately, he’s far more interested in playing music than baling hay. He plays at the local bar and gets lucky one night. A beautiful talent agent happens to be passing through the city, and she’s desperate to find talent. Lucky, lucky girl. In more ways than one.

This is a stand-alone, full-sized novel in the Dawson Brothers’ series (eight books total). Each book focuses on a different brother/cousin. HEA is guaranteed, no cheating or violence.

The First Dawson Brother Finds His Forever!

David’s a rancher with the voice of an angel. Sarah’s a feisty, determined, talent agent looking for the next big star. Sounds like a match made in heaven right? Well, toss in a few rowdy family members loathe to mind their own business, some townsfolk that can’t seem to mind theirs either, and the piece of work that is Sarah’s boss, and what you have is Always on My Mind. This smooth flowing, well written, hot, angst filled romance had me looking for places to hide a few bodies. But believe me, once you’re done listening, not only will you not blame me, you’ll be willing to help provide an alibi! Ali Parker’s characters are exceptionally well developed. The Dawson family feels real. They have their differences, but you can feel the love between them. I feel as if I got to know them and I look forward to getting to know them better as the series progresses. The plot was well developed and well researched as well. I felt as if I got a glimpse inside the music business and I found it to be interesting and entertaining. The narration that brought these characters and this story to life was beautiful, heartfelt and truly a delight. Without hesitation, five stars!

Intriguing Story with Excellent Narration

Wonderful start to what has the promise of being an excellent series. Intriguing story that grabs your attention right from the beginning and holds it all the way through to the end. The narrator is a favorite of mine because he knows how to read the book with feeling and emotion while also giving a distinctiveness to each character he portrays. Highly recommend!

always on my mind

I read the book a while ago, long enough that I enjoyed listening to it because I did forget a lot of the details. the narrator was a first for me. I think I just never found my happy place with the speed. his female voice wasn't bad though. that can be a tough one to listen to

small town romance

David, the talented hometown country singer, has aspirations to make it to the big time. His father and family don't have faith in him telling him it's only a dream. His responsibility as the oldest son is only the family ranch.
When Sarah came into town, she happened to stop by the local bar. As a talent agent, she knew she saw the next big country star. but how can she convince him to go against his families wishes to chase his dream?
It's the first time since his breakup he even considered a relationship. But is Sarah only interested in him only to become his agent?
Sarah and David relationship, is steamy, hot, full of angst, and self doubts.
Ali Parker story gives Sarah the confidence and backbone to stand up for what she wants. She overcomes her fear of not being good enough and being a failure.
Chrisopher Solin narration is very good. His voices and personalities for each character were spot on! his ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless.I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

So So Amazing

I received this item from the narrator. I had never read this story and was not only impressed with it but also with the narration. The narrator shows variation in his voice that makes it easy to determine which character is the POV for that chapter. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone

Terrific entertainment!

This was a terrifically entertaining find. A gem of a delight, wonderful narration- a twist on the meet cute with a sexy cowboy and his city slicker agent girlfriend. Charming and interesting supporting characters. The story is at once familiar and fresh. Hallmark vibes with real good sexy bits. So enjoyed Solon’s narration here. I’m recommending!

Sexy singing cowboy? Sign me up please!💜

I absolutely fell in love. I know what you’re thinking. City girl meets sexy cowboy been there done that. Who cares? It’s still a fantastic story with are the southern charm you can handle. The chemistry is on fire and the characters are so much fun. Bonus, lots of brothers so we are sure to see their stories as well. While not perfect, I thought Christopher Solon did an amazing job performing all these characters. His southern charm fits this story perfectly. I’m so excited for the next book.
This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book!

A Captivating & Heartfelt Story! Awesome Narration

I throughly enjoyed this first book of The Dawson Brothers series, it is well-written with interesting storylines that grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it all the way to the end. The characters are likable and nicely developed as well as realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. David is the oldest Dawson brother, it is a given that he will be the one to run the ranch when his father can no longer do it himself. Music is where David’s heart is at and he dreams of becoming an accomplished musician, but he continues to be the dutiful son working on the family farm. He gets to live out some of his music dreams by performing at Kinsey’s, the local bar, some evenings. Sarah, a talent agent for a record company, was on her way to Nashville after a failed attempt to sign a new artist. She gets lost in Oklahoma and finds herself in the middle of nowhere, but she comes upon a hotel to stay in with a bar next door. After getting a room she goes for to have a drink, not exactly fitting in but she does like what she hears, the talented artist on the stage has it all, the sound and the looks and she thinks he could be the next big thing. Now she has to convince him of that, she missed the opportunity that night but she remained determined and goes to find him at his family’s ranch the next day. She is out of her element, but that does not stop her and she goes with it all and spends time with him and the two get to know each other. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is an entertaining and beautifully plotted story with plenty of drama, both relationship and family, heartfelt emotions and a steamy romance. Ali Parker, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride, I am looking forward to hearing the other Dawson brothers stories, I hope they come to audio soon.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Christopher Solon is a talented narrator and voice artist. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, giving each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable in every role he played and just as I pictured the character to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled all the dialogue effortlessly and without missing a beat. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

Great character development! Love this family

This is an insanely enjoyable story! It easily kept my interest with the plot, family dynamics and characters. David comes from a large family that runs a ranch. So they are all together all the time, all in each others business and really have no secrets. I loved hanging out at the ranch with this family. Actually a lot of these character (primary and secondary) had tremendous growth..which I loved. It makes the whole story come together.

I did listen to this on audio. Christopher Solon did a great job bringing these characters to life. I would love to read/listen to more from this series!

Cowboy and big city girl!

This is book one in this cowboy romance, which is a trope I enjoy, add in the fact that he's a singer? I'm a happy girl.
Sarah is a music agent who stumbles upon David at a bar and knows he's got talent! David has dreams of being a performer outside his little world.
Things happen, drama happens and then more.
I really wanted to love this book but I wasn't 100% vested in this story. I didn't feel the chemistry but that could just be me.
I do like all the secondary characters and the fact that there will be more books in the series. Maybe there will be an enemies to lovers trope in a future book, which I can't ever pass up!

Christopher does a nice job with narration but I really love when there's multiple narrators or even better, duet style narration. He has a fantastic voice though and I'm going to check out more audiobooks by him!
