Publisher's summary

Will their marriage survive their struggles, or will their hearts become as cold as the Northern winter?

Lindie Wyse thinks an arranged marriage is the only way to preserve a future for herself and her unborn child. Josiah Plank is certain he’ll never love again, but he needs someone to care for his deaf eight-year-old daughter, Hannah. The two take on their arrangement tentatively at first but soon realize they are each in for more than they imagined. After a short time, Lindie experiences a breakthrough with Hannah when she recognizes the child’s special gifts, but a risky pregnancy and serious health issues threaten to demolish the foundation Josiah and Lindie are building - and the love that is growing between them.

“Ruth Reid pens a touching story of grace, love, and God's mercy in the midst of uncertainty. A must-read for Amish fiction fans!” (Kathleen Fuller, best-selling author of the Hearts of Middlefield series, for A Miracle of Hope)

“Ruth Reid is skillful in portraying the Amish way of life as well as weaving together miracles with the everyday. In this book, she writes a beautiful tale of romance, redemption, and faith.” (Beth Wiseman, best-selling author of the Daughters of the Promise series, for A Miracle of Hope)

Awesome story

The narrators voices for the men were not so good. However, the story itself was so good that it wasn't a struggle to finish

So disappointed with this author!

I really enjoy amish romances but this one was very poorly planned.
The story was fine. I would say it was ok.
But I'm creating this review because the author added a very unnecessary element to the last few chapters of the story, that did nothing to help the story or the characters grow in any way. It just depressed everyone in the book, and me &, I'm sure, anyone else that ever read it, yet instead of quickly resolving that terribly sad and frightening ordeal, the author just packed on it, making it worse and worse and worse, digging one big hole they weren't going to be able to get out of, AND then quite suddenly the book ended in a huge rush with a VERY impossible happy ending. Literally one chapter ended with everyone in the story suffering in misery and sadness, and the next chapter everyone was happy, end of story. Like some of the book was missing!
The characters I liked. The narrator was excellent. I will not be reading anymore books in this series or by this author.
