Could be better
This good storyline could have been developed better. Much of the time the main characters were confused and mistaken and uncertain. Seemed geared toward teenagers. Too many bitter, angry, and controlling people. Needed more balance.
The narrator has pleasing tone and pretty good characters' voices, but she needs to improve her acting.

Wonderful
I absolutely loved this book, and the other 2 also. Ruth Reid is a wonderful story teller. I look forward to reading more books by her. She draws you right into the story line. The only thing I didn’t like was finishing the book. It could have gone on forever. I don’t think I would have tired of it.
