The journey for many in their quest to "come out" can be as different as chalk and cheese. Society, religions, cultures, ignorace, media (ironically), small mindedness, and even education can be evil in nature and lack "love" and understanding. However, none of this ever changes who you are, and once "out" life changes for the better, even if one gets snide remarks at times.

The word "spirituality" is brandished about today as almost a surrogate word for God. Instead of saying you believe in whatever religion you do, it's almost the "in thing" to say you are spiritual and believe in the Universe (whatever that means). The Universe exists whether you believe in it or not. Even the dictionay definition of the word spirituality is somewhat vague in that it can mean a lot of different things, even if pertaining to the same thing.

Happiness is not rocket science. Happiness is available to anyone regardless of their circumstances and situations. If you choose to demark happiness based upon any problems then by default you will be unhappy, where the mind goes the body follows.

Love is the essence of our whole life and existence. It is what has allowed us "man" to excell over and above other species, and why some societies have done well whereas many other areas of life with eveil religiously anti-love concepts fall sadly behind and become poisoned failures by their own hand. Take love away from mankind and people are no better than drones or robots.

Whatever happens in life you are the one who has to experience it no one else. Your decisions come from your mind no where else. Even if you choose to follow someone else and it all goes wrong, it is still your decision that was enacted not theirs. Modern day blame culture is rubbish and pathetic. How you experience pain, pleasure, unfairness, love, selfishness, etc, it is all processed in your mind as that is where you live no where else.

When we get angry, upset, or someone does something we don't like, or we feel disadvantaged, we process that information in our mind. It is the only place where we can "come to terms" with what we have experienced, whatever it is. Our levels or degrees of intelligence play a vital part in how we think and look at life. Ghandi said that "forgiveness was not something the lower classes or the uneducated could do", and by and large it appears to be true.

Nothing in life is ever that simple, and if you are "coming out", then you can have additional complications, because of outmoded race or cultural pressures which have no bearing on today's life whatsoever - other than being carried forward by ignorant minds. Taboos, ideologies, personal fears of "what others may think" all stem from redundant thoughts and times of the past. We can't choose who we are, nor how we are, nor indeed where we are.

Life not only throws spanners in the works, it throws at times whatever it can get hold of, it catches us off guard and makes us feel just so vulnerable. Whether it's something financial, health related, work wise, relationships or a combination of all of those it matters not, it is not nice and furthermore very much dulls our outlook on life, which in reality is the last thing we need.

We all have far more authority than we give ourselves credit for. Our upbringing, the media, rules and regulations, evil religions, outmoded customs and traditions all whittle away at the fabric of who we are. We have notions that saying NO will offend others, or that if we don't give in to certain things, it will upset others or spoil some grand plan. Yet whose life are you living? And what right have others to take away what you want, for themselves?

The only person to suffer from un-forgiveness is ourselves. Others can't experience what we think and feel, others can't read our thoughts, only we can get to grips with them. Our pain, torment, self mind talk is purely ours and we are thus the only ones privvy to this, if we get upset then we get upset, no one else will. If we are to move on in life then we must forgive no matter how hard that is.

Mental health today is becoming a big issue. It can manifest itself in a whole array of disorders (outside of clinical disorders), even the thought of mental health problems alienates many from the word go, and their repetitive self thinking often creates more or even ficticious problems which only adds to an already aggravated situation.

Many people today are desperate for love. They think that once love arrives all their problems will be solved or cushioned to an extent that they will be able to cope better. Love doesn't work like that. Love comes in many guises and each and everyone are unique to that person. Those that say "I have a lot of love to give to the right person" are usually selfish to a huge degree. Love never runs out, and the more love you give to life and those around you the richer it gets.

Our fetishes, our secret desires, private hobbies and likes etc, often that are out of the "norm" or general understanding of pedestrian thought. This can lead us to living a "double life", it can be exciting, it can be cruel, it can be unkind and it can be lonely.

Failure has been given a bad name. Yes it is not nice to fail we all like to win, come out on top because it makes us feel good. But without failure we don't have success and we are all living the lives we are today because many people have failed, some mega time too. Pharnaceuticals (where scientists fail every day for years trying to find a solution), aviation, engineering, businesses, etc, we all fail from time to time. We do however get 10/10 for trying, we get nothing for not trying or doing nothing.

It is true that a smile can elevate the soul, improve your wellbeing, make you more accessible to others and indeed companies if you go for an interview. But what happens when we are hurting, saddened, unhappy, lonely, fearful, upset? The first thing we should not do is "Stop smiling" wearing our anguish only tends to make matters worse and sympathy is a hollow virtue in that it can elevate the senses but has no substance whatsoever.

We talk about what is and what isn't normal, but in reality "Normal" is only a relative term. What some call normal is abnormal for others (what is normal for a spider is chas for the fly). Everything in life is perspective based and that is relative to our understanding, background, education, religion and cultural habits. Our views on life can at times even make us wonder perhaps "Am I normal" in relation to others and vice versa.

Forget about "Blame Culture" or circumstances or situations, you are in charge of your life at all times, never ever forget that. You wouldn't leave home naked so don't leave home thinking that someone else is in charge of you. Never ever give your authority away to anyone else no matter who or what. Yes, you have to comply at times to where you are whether at work or play, but that doesn't mean being subservient or a sponge to others who are bombastic or domineering.

Humility and pride: One can get you everywhere and the other can get you nowhere. It's a virtue to be humble as it denotes you have a high degree of grace and understanding. It doesn't denote being a "soft touch" as what you possess is of a value that needs no extra advertising. Those who are ego lead are quite the opposite, often suffering from a very bad ignorance and lack of self-esteem. There is a big difference between being proud of your children or some work you have done as opposed to being proud looking at life through a variable supercilious aspect that clouds others from your favour and even warrants negativity.
