Story
Self Reliance is an essay written in 1841 by Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This essay is an analysis into the nature of the aboriginal self on which a universal reliance may be grounded. He stresses that anyone is capable of achieving happiness simply if they change their mindset. Emerson focuses on seemingly insignificant details explaining how life is "learning and forgetting and learning again".

Story
A poor porter stops to take a rest on the bench outside the gate of a rich merchant's house, where he complains to Allah about the injustice of a world which allows the rich to live in ease while he must work hard and yet remain poor. The owner of the house hears about this and requests to speak to the porter, finding that they are both named Sinbad. The rich Sinbad tells the poor Sinbad that he became wealthy "by fortune and fate" during seven wondrous voyages, which he then proceeds to tell.

Story
This book is about a Black man's experience of reading Mark Twain's classic Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for the first time while in graduate school. The story captures the author's emotional struggle with Twain's use of the racial epithet more than 200 times in the text. This is a courageous memoir that wrestles with the historic stain of racism and the ongoing impact of racist language in postmodern society. The book is about Harris' flashbacks, conversations, and dilemmas spawned by use of the epithet in a classroom setting where the author was the only Black person.

Story
Many people believe that the New World Order is rapidly closing in on our personal liberties. Even our identities are being stolen. ID Cards are being forced upon the British and press freedom is a thing of the past as journalists are told what to say and what not to say.But there is a group of people who refuse to take this oppressive Big Brother State attitude lying down. They are speaking out for our freedom and they say it's time we all stood up to be counted.

The "Epistulae morales ad Lucilium" (Latin for "moral letters to Lucilius") are a collection of 124 letters which were written by Seneca at the end of his life, during his retirement, and written after he had worked for the Emperor Nero for 15 years. They are addressed to Lucilius, the then procurator of Sicily. The letters highlight many moral and ethical ways to live, and address many of the issues known to man, about life and death. These letters have been carefully adapted into a contemporary format to allow for easy reading and understanding. This is part one of three which contains letters 1-41.

Story
The final issue of 2020...we all dealt with the trauma of the year in different ways. For creatives, they expressed themselves in words and images. Here are stories that deal with race and bias, with fear and death. How we deal with losing a loved one...and an unloved one. There is some laughter in the mix, as well as some tears. Poetry, reviews, interviews, and a graphic short come together with outstanding illustrations to make a bit of brilliance here in the darkest month of the darkest year many of us have ever experienced.
