Reni Eddo-Lodge talks to us about narrating her audiobook, her thoughts on positive discrimination and what makes her hopeful about Britain today.

Julia Heaberlin visits the Audible Studios to talk about her latest book, Black Eyed Susans. To write this disturbing thriller Julia conducted thorough research into mitochondrial DNA, death penalty law and child psychology.

Glover worked her way through the ranks of BBC Radio, starting as a filing clerk, and becoming the presenter of The Listening Project for BBC Radio 4 and My Perfect Country for the BBC World Service, besides many other award-winning projects. Garvey spent a lot of her career on BBC Radio 5 Live, being the first voice heard on the station when it launched at 5am in 1994. She presented some of its main shows such as Midday and Drive, going on to host BBC Radio 4's prestigious Women's Hour.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Rosie Jones, British stand-up comedian, screen writer and children’s author. Having begun her career as a junior researcher for comedy panel shows, Jones realised she wanted to be the one telling the jokes, not just writing them. A couple of years on, and Jones is a regular on shows such as The Last Leg, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and across BBC Radio 4. Jones writes for sitcoms such as Netflix's Sex Education and launched her own podcast called Daddy Look at Me.

After studying English at university, O'Leary had a successful career as a children's editor at the Penguin Random House publisher. Not enjoying living in London, O'Leary moved to the countryside and spent her daily commute working on her novel, The Flatshare. After its astounding success, O'Leary was able to achieve her dream of being a full time writer and released her second novel The Switch.

Joining us for a chat is the people's poet laureate, the punk performance poet, John Cooper Clarke, who is releasing his memoir I Wanna Be Yours. Clarke, born in Salford, is well known for his classic look of drainpipe jeans, wild black hair and sunglasses, whatever the weather, something which hasn't changed since the 1970s. Being inspired and encouraged by an English teacher at school, Clarke decided that he would make a living from poetry. He performed with many hugely successful bands, such as The Sex Pistols, Joy Division and New Order.

Born in Dublin, Dolan studied English at Trinity College, followed by a master's in Victorian literature at Oxford. Excerpts of Exciting Times have appeared in The Dublin Review and The Stinging Fly, but the book, which follows protagonist Ava and her relationships with Julian and Edith, can now be read and listened to in full - to great effect!

Joining us at Audible Studios is British racing driver Jenson Button, who won the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship. Button began racing at the age of eight, when his dad bought him his first kart, and he entered Formula 1 in 2000. As with the career of any F1 driver, there are ups and downs due to car issues and failures, but Button was on his way up. In 2009, Button won the Formula 1 World Championship, and at every race along the way, his father was there cheering him on.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Oscar Duke, a doctor working for the NHS who regularly contributes to The Surgery on BBC Radio 1, has appeared on Channel 4's 24 Hours in A&E, and presented his own documentary about albinism for BBC2, Born Too White. Dr Oscar Duke has written a book, How to Be a Dad, which gives a 'Doctor' section and a 'Dad' section for each and every stage of pregnancy through to birth and after, with handy tips for mums along the way.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Anne Griffin, debut author of the next great Irish novel, When All Is Said. Griffin’s novel depicts an Irish farmer who orders five drinks over the course of one night to toast each of the five most important people in his life. His life is laid bare, in its loves and feuds, regrets and triumphs, all through the five people who have left him behind. We spoke about her inspiration for the book, her literary career so far and what her plans are for the future.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Temi Oh, who has a BSci in neuroscience and an MA in creative writing and who has recently released her debut novel, Do You Dream of Terra-Two? We spoke about how rewriting one book taught her to write novels, how she got to go in a human centrifuge and being a huge audiobook fan.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to discuss her tell-all memoir, Brutally Honest, is Spice Girl and TV presenter Melanie Brown. Beyond being a Spice Girl, Mel B is now also an advocate for women across the world who suffer from domestic violence. Melanie’s memoir is a compelling, frank and inspirational story of a woman who has lived through many challenges but refuses to be shamed any more. In this interview, Mel spoke to us about revisiting painful memories in writing her memoir, the process of casting the audiobook and the feedback she's got already from her nearest and dearest.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about not one but two recent audio projects is actor and comedian Matt Lucas. Matt is well known for Little Britain and Come Fly with Me but has many more strings to his bow - adding the narration of Charles’ Dickens epic Great Expectations to his achievements, along with performing Fagin in the audio drama Dodge and Twist. At a finished time of 20 hours and 39 minutes long, narrating Great Expectations was no mean feat. It has, though, been met with rave reviews - so time well spent!

Joining us in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest book, Breaking News, is British journalist, former editor in chief of the Guardian and Principal of Lady Margaret Hall in Oxford Alan Rusbridger. Spending most of his life as a journalist and 20 years as editor of the Guardian, Alan Rusbridger has been responsible for the paper’s change from broadsheet to Berliner, for its innovation into digital and for breaking some of the most significant news stories of our time.

Famed for her honest discussion with Prince Harry on mental health, Bryony Gordon is a feature writer and columnist for The Telegraph who also actively campaigns on the subject of mental health. Having already published two respected memoirs, Bryony’s third book, Eat, Drink, Run: How I Got Fit Without Going Too Mad, was published in May 2018. Bryony Gordon talks to us about exercise for her mental health, her top tips for running a marathon and setting up mental health mates.

Stephen has been performing at the Edinburgh Festival for over 15 years on top of touring, appearing on multiple panel shows and presenting various documentaries. Not to mention performing at the Royal Variety in 2007. Having more than earnt his comedy stripes, his Talk Show features guests from all stages of their comedy careers, chatting about the industry, performing and many personal, funny anecdotes. When Stephen joined us in studio, he spoke about diversity in comedy, how he came to feel okay with things going wrong on stage and what keeps comedians returning to Edinburgh year after year.
