I expected more anecdotal stories about the people on his mail route. There was some of that, but mostly I learned about how the author became a mailman and the life and duties of a mail carrier in general... the necessary tools (mental and physical abilities along with clothing and hardware). I found that interesting and it gave me new respect for mail carriers. I remember when Amazon decided to stop using UPS to deliver packages. In one chapter, the author gives an inside view of the havoc it created at USPS. I never thought it was an easy job, but I now realize that it's a challenge I would not handle well.

I really liked getting a peek inside of the postal system but also glimpses of the life he has in appalachia. He has good insights and I loved his storytelling. Great reader too!

What an unexpected and important book. I’m ashamed to say I don’t give much thought to this aspect. That is so vital to our day-to-day lives. I appreciate the authors vulnerability and sir. I loved your book.

My husband is a retired letter carrier. When this book came up in my feed I was intrigued. Reading it gave me some new insights but I loved the honesty that shined throughout the book. I did wonder how those medical treatments worked into the workday schedule?? A mail carrier's job is sometimes appreciated but too often they are THE point person to complain about all that is wrong with the postal service... things they have no control over! I'm glad you were able to see the joys in the hard days and not become complacent to the "just do what I HAVE to do" mentality!

I recommend reading/listening to this book because you will be delivered some humor, insight and harsh realities of delivering the mail.
