A new postapocalyptic thriller from #1 bestselling author Glenn Beck.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU RISK TO BE FREE?

Emmeline and her family live in a place that just a generation ago was called America. Now, it’s simply known as “the Republic.” There is no president. No Congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom.

There are only the Authorities.

This bleak and barren existence is all that eighteen-year-old Emmeline has ever known. She dutifully walks her energy board daily and accepts all male pairings assigned to her by the Authorities. Like most citizens, she keeps her head down and her eyes closed.

Until the day they come for the one she loves most.

Parke and Beck collaborated on this possible rendition of the future. A dark and oppressive story that finally finds a sliver of light at its' conclusion, this narration fits the story line. January LaVoy brings the story to life with her nurturing and oppressed / optimistic rendition of the lead character's thoughts, compulsions towards freedom and hopes for the future generation. A possible look at what we might someday lose, this audio book should not be missed.

Frightening, if broad conclusions Mr Beck has drawn about ultimate consequences of Agenda 21 play out. But this is not surprising.

Intriguing

Would you consider the audio edition of Agenda 21 to be better than the print version?

I have to listen to books because when I read I become immobilized and sit and sit and sit. Before bed I can do that but not on every day that I have off. So I listen as I drive, do dishes, etc.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Agenda 21?

When "mother" just gave up and stopped walking the activity board. When there's no hope it's hard to keep on.

Which character – as performed by January LaVoy – was your favorite?

Emmeline

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

What past society / culture hasn't believed "it can't happen here"? To think that is human nature. Yet historical reports illustrate that when it happens it happens quickly. We need to pay attention to the local and municipal trends regarding private property, the right to use self defense, the right to worship. We have the most precious gift of all: personal freedom. Let's keep our eyes on the ball.

Can it Happen Here?

My father told me I should read this. Upon starting I told him I was going to stop reading it as it's too depressing. My mom recently died and my dad and I discuss the topics of the day then say how glad the Lord saw fit to take mom home. She doesn't have to deal with this stuff and won't have to deal with what's coming. We miss her so much but at least she has been spared the garage and mass manipulation going on now. We are so thankful. If you love your family, do something to spare them. Wake up. This IS a novel but we are headed down the path. Let's not go there. Let's fight for the future of our children and grandchildren. Or it's our fault.

eye opening!
