100% robot voice

I would be hard-pressed to believe this is not a computer voice if it’s not worse narrator ever couldn’t even finish the book story seem interesting but just to annoying to listen and finish

read by Mr. Roboto

Interesting story. No major faults. The biggest thing is the narrator is very robotic in his preformance.

Narrator was unfortunately lobotomized

I don’t know if this story is good. The narrator didn’t just use a monotone voice, he annunciated each syllable separately and with a half second pause. Siri sounds more alive than the characters in this audiobook. If I were ever to encounter a person that sounded like this, I would give them a piece of candy and look for whatever nurse that was supposed to keep forks out of electrical sockets.

So awful.

Terrible beyond words but apparently they are required. It feels like the author is 9 years old, and the narrator is an ESL 8 year old.

More of a first draft.

Narrator is really kinda flat. So is the story for that matter. Really disappointing. The writing is what I would expect in a rough/first draft. I love the plot concept as I really enjoy litRPG books like Dungeon Lord/Sale on Superheroes- and I love anything zombie. So naturally I was really excited when I saw this. But this novel needs some real polish and a bit more meat on its bare bones. The story is just lacking that 3D feel that another couple of drafts might have given it.

The narrator is a robot but still a great book.

Book can be a bit tedious at some points because of the narrator but it is more than made up by a great story!

this book is terrible and the voice acting is wors

the story is full of cliches in a bad way.
not the fun cliches either, every stupid zombie cliche is there and all the bad writing ones too.
the voice actor sounds like he can barely read and has all the audio acting skill of a computer.
do not waste you money

Get past the narrator.

Obviously one of the authors first books, you can tell by his writing for the towers series compared to this book even then, he made a character that worked for his power who had character and conviction without saying it every 5mins.

Felt rushed

not sure if it was only the narrators fault that it felt like anything that was happening wasn't important.

But to me the narrator often sounded bored, and just wanted to get it over with by plowing through parts where pauses and/or emotion were supposed to be taking place.

Which I think is a bit weird, since I thought he was good at doing different voices, and he delivered certain lines with emotion. So why not all?

The writing felt a bit amateurish aswell, but not to the point that it put me off too much.
There were a lot of unnecessary and unnatural anime dialogue which, by the way, is put in anime to fill out the episode so they dont have to animate things that are happening. or if they think the viewer is extraordinarily stupid and need someone to explain what they just saw. So it gave the book a feeling of a low budget anime.

The characters often seemed to have been born yesterday and couldn't think further than you can throw a dandelion seed.
"oh no we only have 5 baseball bats! I guess everyone else will have to punch the zombies with their bare hands" or you know...use literally anything else as a weapon?

Also.
"what humans require most are 3 things..." Ah yes, Water, food and shelter from the elements/danger. Right? "...food, shelter and sleep"
FOOD IS THE LEAST IMPORTANT OF THESE THREE!!!...sorry.. but yeah they just worry about food, never water. which you can't be without for longer than 3 days, vs 3 weeks without food...
This is such a small thing to get stuck on, but somehow it really bothered me.

I did not dislike the book. but not something I would recommend to someone who are used to more detailed books
