A true classic of pop, spirituality

I love this book. It is one of the best and most accessible classic works of contemporary, spiritual teaching.

Nothing new here

Not a single new thought or concept was presented in this whole book. Just a regurgitation of every previous “think positive” type of construct blended with “The Secret”. If these ideas are new to you, I suppose it’s a good overview though.

It Is More Like a Dale Carnegie Book

The book is more like a Dale Carnegie or Napoleon Hill book than it is a book on Zen. It is the same sort of style and thought process as HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE mixed with a little THINK AND GROW RICH. Just because the author begins a chapter or a section with a quote from the Buddha or a Zen teacher, it does not make it Zen. If you are serious about learning the "art of Zen" anything, then find another book.

Not Zen … Just Silly Manifesting

This book has almost zero connection to Zen. It’s definitely rooted in ridiculous Western spirituality. Also, it’s a big advertisement for the author’s (famously expensive) rehab center. Short read that was all but impossible to finish.

Good little book

Interesting look into non religious eastern philosophies and how we can apply them to daily life. Good replaced with The Universe to make it more palatable to the non religious. Good reminder of key truths nevertheless. Kudos to the narrator
