Story
Carl was a regular construction foreman. Not the worst, not the best, and definitely not the thinnest. Even so, he didn't deserve that heart attack! He really didn't deserve being reborn into a dog-eat-dog world as a dragon. To be fair, it’s nice to be at the top of the food chain. Now Carl just needs to learn how magic works, which monsters are safe to eat, and why his hoard is so important to him. Dealing with change is hard enough, but he has enemy dragons incoming, hostile environments, and foes constantly trying to get bragging rights by taking down a dragon.

Story
For more than 150 years I've served the Kingdom of Sena. Through four kings and a queen. Two wars and a rebellion. I've founded and taught at a magic school. I've fought against beast waves and dungeon breaks. But now? Now, the one close friend I had left has passed. So, I'm done with their politics and their economics. The short and busy lives of humans are more burden than benefit on the weary soul of this half-elf.

Deeper than I thought!
Zachary "Zee" Jones, the former hospital janitor, enters the virtual world called Gygax via the Inmate Player Program. Pop culture references abound. Did any of you know the passphrase to the Bond painting? Zack acquired an unprecedented squirt of brilliance using his brand new spells and dealing with the elementals when they were below the Goblin’s Keep. It made for an exciting scenario but his newly discovered knowledge was unlikely. Without giving up spoilers, the quest they are on leads to the next volume. It also adds considerable danger as this is a PvP world, and once they leave the Orientation Zone they will be vulnerable. I like the story. The premise is deeper than I first thought considering the Doctor’s research. Volume two is out but not yet available in Audible. I’ll get it when I can.

A welcomed new addition to the LitRPG genre!
I thoroughly enjoyed this new author's first book to Audible. Plus a good performance from the narrator, which can make or break any story.
The plot is not totally new but presented with enough thought provoking concepts to keep even the widest reader/listener of this genre engaged.
Also, the story has just begun to tease-out details of a more complex storyline.
I can't wait to listen to further books from this author, especially this series. Enjoy!

Amazing & Great for RPO Fans!
This was a really great book and the premise worked really well. I've listened/read a LOT of LitRPG/isekai books and this is on my top 3! Also this is THE BEST book for Ready Player One fans I've found to date. Lot of references without seeming like a copy cat. This felt like its own book and I had a lot of fun listening! The narrator does great character voices but is way too relaxed and a bit monotone at times in-between but I don't feel it took away from the story. I absolutely recommend this book!

Ready Player Deja Vu?
Firstly, I would like to say i got this free as inclusive with my audible account. Is it enjoyable? Yes. Is it well performed? Yes, good naration. Is it original? Nope! A dystopian future where democracy is broken and the law and all aspects of society is governed by large corporations, those that break the law can be sentenced to a virtual reality game to pay off their debt, sound familiar?
As pointed out in other reviews it is quite similar to "Ready Player One" in all those aspects, except that the story doesnt end with this one book, so a series?
I suppose it was inevitable that this would happen with this genre eventualy.
When the next book in the series is available I would probably follow it just to see how it turns out.
