Roses are red Violets are blue

Watch your back I'm coming for you

Lylah and her friends can't wait to spend a night out together. Partying is the perfect way to let loose from the stress of life and school, and Lylah hopes that hitting the dance floor with Chace, her best friend, will bring them closer. She's been crushing on him since they met. If only he thought of her the same way....

The girls are touching up their makeup, and the guys are sliding on their coats when the doorbell rings. No one is there. An envelope sits on the doormat. It's an anonymous note addressed to their friend Sonny. A secret admirer? Maybe.

They all laugh it off. Except Sonny never comes home. And a new note arrives: Your turn.

Critic reviews

“Preston's latest mystery reads like an homage to a nostalgic Fear Street novel.... An enjoyable blend of mystery and horror.” (Booklist)

made me lose sleep

you know a book is good when you'd rather listen to it than sleep, listening to it also helps keep it a mystery since you cant accidently read ahead and see a huge spoiler, so glad my friend recommended this, helped "kill" alot of time at work

So many twists!

Absolutely love the story, but the narration would have been better with a different voice.

I'm a sucker for a theybalways come back ending

Great read to get you out of your slump! The story was your everyday slasher who did it. Though toward the end I seen it coming...AMAZING

Does not disappoint

This is my sixth Natasha Preston book that I have read. She is an amazing writer. The suspense and detail make the stories realistic. I have yet to figure out how a story ends with my own thoughts. She writes redirections without the reader concluding who the “killer” is. It’s always a surprise. She keeps me wanting and reading more.

it would make a decent movie

I enjoyed the plot, it would make a good thriller movie. I just wish I connected with the characters, maybe I would have cared about the deaths more.
That's not on the writing, though, I rarely connect with these personality types.

Anna Parker-Naples's narration was great!

Shocking

The ending shocked me but also did not think it made sense… I was hoping it was Chase because the story line would’ve made a bit more sense but overall, I enjoyed it just in time for Valentines Day!

Time-killer, very “young adult “

This title was fine. The narrator was pretty bad, but it’s a short listen, thankfully. Very predictable and reminiscent of what I’d pick up as a HS freshman grabbing a random book from the school library. Very minor plot holes. Entertaining enough.
